Winds were pretty bad here, 80mph+ lot power for 15 hours yesterday, a lot of folk still off grid...
For snow and ice, good old studded Nokia Bogtrotters are hard to beat. Now branded "Nokian" as Nokia ditched the rubber good business. The studs are replaceable, which is very neat.

That's why we got a nat-gas generator. In the past quarter century our electric would go out for days at a time, one time it was 10 days. The reason we got a fixed installation -- they had gas rationing during one of the extended power outages and had to drive to Pennsylvania to fill up 5 gallon jerry-jugs. (Adjacent area to us (Maplewood NJ) was electrified by Thomas Edison himself, so it was DC! and only AC after WW-I.)Make that at least 72 hours. Decamping to family tomorrow
Oh, snowing here in NJ.
Where are you located, Bill? My daughter lives in Muswell Hill, London and a woman died in a car there when a tree fell over...

We had quiet a few dead here in Belium. One guy in Gent was hit by a flying solar panel, an other was blown of a ship in Ieper and drowned, and a few others were heavy wounded by falling trees, cars and trucks blown of the road and so. And litterally thousands of buildings had damage (+3000 alone in the coastal province said the news). And in the Netherlands and northern Germany it was not better...
And the good news is, tonight there is a new storm comming with similar wind speeds...
