I have heard of Birch syrup but not tasted. Is the sap sugary enough or do you need a lot more? How does the taste compare?
The Birch sap is a bit sweet when fresh (sweet enough). Then, after several days it quickly begins to sour. Sour, saved until summer comes in handy when it is hot.
March almost came in like a lamb. At 10PM on Feb 28, it was 58°F but just after midnight March 1, it was down to 43°F and by morning it was 35°F.
My friend in Cleveland Hts said that the young moms were back to joggin' in their latex tights on Sunday.

I may know a few of those moms. The recreation center and rink have been closed since last March. What else can they do?
In both our neighborhoods in NJ and CLE folks ice part of their back yards -- there were a bunch of Mom's in the Cleveland Museum yesterday with toddlers, but you have to reserve tickets. The kids were running around in the atrium.

Furnace motor conked out -- in the good old days you could call Granger and get a replacement in a couple hours. These days it's a PCM motor, and has to be programmed for the specific furnace.

Discussed in this morning's New York Times but, for some reason not on their website -- Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation -- the less dense fresh water "overturning", i.e. impeding the sinking of more saline water.
Yeah, last June was very good but in July it was never above 15c, mostly around 10-12c, and we got hail three times!

Gee willikers Batman. Here I am in my shorts and Hawaiian shirt ready to go for a leisurely walk in the park with my lovely wife and faithful dog. It's only 7º now but will be 13º in a few hours.
