I think the CNC aluminum chassis and heatsink alone are 22lbs. It’s no lightweight in sound or mass!
What do you think the background noise level will be like when A40 amp is hooked up directly to 107dB sensitive CD/horn (active crossover) without a preamp to attenuate signal before the amp? (direct from DAC output).
We have measured the SNR and it is between 108 and 112dB and the noise is measured to be between 40uV to 60uV with inputs shorted - for typical 8ohm 85dB/W sensitive speakers, this is inaudible noise with ears pressed to the speaker cone with inputs shorted.
The A40 is currently being auditioned by a reviewer. We are commencing series production this week. It’s been a long journey but finally there.
Reserved myself an A40. I don't know why since I have amplifiers everywhere already, but the 43% efficiency nudged me since it shouldn't warm up my room much more than my tube amps. The A40 is currently being auditioned by a reviewer. Question. Will we be able to choose the color of the side panels? I kind of like the gold color in the photos I've seen..
LSA page for XSA says Call with $100.00 deposit to reserve one, which is what I did.Did you email directly? The web site says sold out
The 10W into 8ohms harmonic distortion vs frequency is quite nice. Doninant 2nd harmonic and descending higher orders. Pretty flat vs frequency. This makes for a natural and wonderful sound. 10W is what I consider a “loud” domestic level for most speakers (about 13dB plus base speaker sensitivity for stereo) or assuming 85dB + 13dB is 98dB at 1m. Wear some hearing protection!

Great review, but you may want to inform the reviewer to make a correction when he wrote!:
"It’s necessary to point out that the Audio Nirvana amplifier making up the core technology of the A40 is a building block for Vera-Fi and their team"
And I just want to note that I ordered A40 before the first review 😀

Hi there in America. I just pulled the trigger on pre-ordering a VeraFi A40 (order #1430). Since I am from Germany, one question (at least) arises: Will there be a variant for 230 volt 50 Hz?
Thank you very much in advance
