The Singing Bush

The aperture lamp is done and I’m calling it the “The Eye of Z.M.”

The Singing Bush continues to impress me with incredible openness and richness of tone. I’ve compared it to:

DIY SET 45

Pass XA-25

DIY AJ

P-P KT-88

DIY F4 (yes, it can drive it 😂😂😂)

Hypex Nilai (kit)

Zenductor 2 with SiCs running on Lipo power

ACA Minis running on Lipo power

Velvet 2 SE

I’ve listened to this album for a long time, many, many times. I’ve never heard my loudspeaker have the tone of a DHT tube and the drive of SS. Truly remarkable.

Please build this amp!

Papa tells me some more toys are in the works….hopefully we see them this year. …

I think the gain structure of these dissimilar output devices and the SIT having its unusual concave curves makes these types of designs exotic sounding.

Unfortunately, watts into your listening room are watts, doesn’t matter how large your heatsink area is and how reasonable your temps are.

That’s why you have to have lower dissipation designs for the summer! More amps, more 🤩

We were in Salzburg in October of ‘12 and it was hot and humid. Cooled down nicely at night, though. Climbed the hill to Hohensalzburg and I was drenched with sweat when we got to the castle (could have taken the funicular but the photographic opportunity was better hiking up) So, ya, I can see you need would need it in the summertime.
