Mooooorning,
the left one from the Kompressor is my little monster.
My american friends call such bikes a 'frankenstein bike'.
frame: '58 Harley Panhead
engine: completely self built with new parts based on the Harley Shovelhead
engine - 1530ccm (more bore, more stroke)
Zylinderheads intake, exhaust, combustion chamber polished
and bigger valves + increased compression (10:1).
It's kickstart only - in summer sometimes I jump around on that bit..
like a rubberball.
fork: Suzuki GSXR-1100 upside down (to add some good japanese stuff 🙄)
brakes: six piston calipers left and right in the front (you know - Harley brakes
are... - and to be later on the brake makes you faster)
transmission: SPUTHE 5-speed with kicker and hydraulic clutch
and some more.....
I built this 'creature' 10 years ago.
I also like japanese bikes.
I have no one anymore. I would look for a KAWASAKI Z900 or a
Honda CB750. But the prices for these bikes exploded the last years
on the german market.

Hey,
I'm also a wild man ;-)
74er Honda DAX - from first hand (father in law) with original contract of sale and only a few km. 🙂
Found this "motorcycle" after 40 years in the warm basement from wife parents and now it is in my warm garage together with my 74er BMW 2002 tii. It was driven only in the first two / three years on sunny days!

Hello Carsten,
I like it. 2 friends also have a HONDA MONKEY and a DAX.
One of my buddies is riding his DAX with the ellbows far out
as if he would go 200km/h. We are often laughing that loud....
And the rest of the 'gang' with the Mofas around him.
2 Years ago we drove from here (south germany) over St.Gotthard,
Furka, to the LAGO MAGGIORE on the Mofas in 3 days.
Was a crazy trip! - with lots of fun.

Nice trip! 🙂
Ok, a little bit freaky but here is lying 125ccm engine for the DAX, should I do it or leave it original? Think original should be better, but ...

ZEN MOD,
believe me, I am also no millionaire.
I have a pretty normal job. It took me 7 years to build and save the money for that
bike. But I also know that the incomes in the east of europe are lower - I think
you are still there?
I do not have a lot of fotos from my own bikes. Don't know why? I am searching
and will post a few ones.

If I understand it right, you have a complete second engine for the DAX with a
125ccm kit on it. I know one DAX with such an engine kit (but there are different
manufacturers for such kits) which is very fast.
No risk - you have your original engine which will last very very long if you don't rev it to high. And always some oil in it!
The tuned DAX engine will not last that long. Especially if you run it fast (always). But it always depends on the driver.
But you have a DAX with less than 1000km on the tach. I would let it stay
original. Will never loose its value. Some collectors could be very interested?

I found a few fotos from the last 15 years. I also found pics from me and buddies
in many pubs (especially from our USA-trips) which I can't post here.
Some pics from trips.

@cubicincher,
yes that is what I also think about originality. I will make no modifications.
Better I look to another DAX and than thought again the engine. ,-)

Years ago my friend rebuilt/improved his Harley. After reassembling he discovered he didn't quite have the timing right.
When he tried to kickstart the bike, it backfired and shattered his fibula! 😱

Very fast WLA 45! And this with footclutch and handshifter! This engine
seems to be beefed up a little bit. 😀
Nice drag show. I like it.
Years ago I worked on a WLC 45. Problem was often the transmission.
