Today I hosted some people who are professional music players.
They really where blown away whit the sound reproduction...
All of them agreed that my audio nirvana full range speakers whrere no match
for this amp. This is the third time I heard something like that.
I know....I need some decent speakers to match the amp...
This will be a nice project for next year...If someone has a nice idea,
let me know...But I dont like lowthers...!

I found something very interesting in my basement.
I have a nice pair of ACR mk4 beton monitor speakers from 1980s...I remember they where very high praised then...from Switzerland.)
They are 6 ohms...So will try them...
I also found a test in magazin...If someone is interested how they
look like I can send a scaned pdf...)

Today I powered the ACR beton speakers and was really surprised
how deeep and precise the bass reproduction can be and this from
a speaker 24x40x20 cm size...)
I have a filling that this spekars where waiting to be powered by a great
amp like my SIT is. There is absolutly no comparison to audio nirvana 12inch
driver in open buffle...The whole room is just pictured into a life stage,
everything is breathing...My compliments to the designer Werner Vögeli back then.
The construction of this little beast is very impressive. The enclousure is made of concrete mixed whit some sort of plastic. The woofer is jordan watts (need to find out which one) 4 inch driver. The mid is also from jordan watts and the high driver is an "bendchen driver" and there is a passive KEF woofer membrane at the back of the speakers which is in outphase whit the aktive woofer but sonically perfect in phase..)
I would really want to know more about them, so if someone has them or has more information please let me know!!!
On SIT I used the 7.5 ohm output on the UTC-LS33, so I get a reflected impedance on primary of 40 ohms whit 6ohm speakers. I could use the 5 ohm output on the OPT then I will have 60 ohm on primary...Which is better...good question...Need to try...)

First of all I lowered the driver stage output impedance whit
CCS Mu follower output. Then I changed the cathode resistor and cap whit a
white diode (its a package in SMD whit two dioded in parallel). Forward voltage is
2.9V, so perfect. I get 180V at plate and 36mA current........
To me be clear. With 1Vrms from source, you're pushing around 50Vrms (140Vpp) to Gate of 2SK82. True ???

No. Whit 1V input you get 30-32V from first stage.
So I need only 0.2-0.5V source.
This hybrid SIT amp doesnt need any pre amp!
I am driving my DAC directly whit SIT, so only two I/V resistors
and thats all...
The sound is really really good.
Hello again....
Would it be possible for you to measure your output voltage from 20hz up to a few hundred? I've made several attempts to use choke loading with MOSFETs and SemiSouth power FET with the largest choke being 10H at 500MA but can never get much output below a few hundred hz. Would make a good tweeter amp but not full range. I would think 10H would be enough.

Maybe you did something wrong...You should post your schematic in some
other thread, so we all can analyse it...
The Hybrid SIT works extremely well.
I wish I could measure distorsion but from sound I assume its very low.
I will post a new version of the design whit some changes in the first stage.
Diary....
I dont want to be on praising trip...
But I want to encourage people to build something like that...
I had 45,71A,10, SETs and this hybrid blows them all away...
The bass reproduction is so extreme whit my speakers that I sometimes
get scared...) The dynamics absolutly incredible... In the highs there is so
much information, that you hear the walls of recording place...Incredible!!!
The main problem for building this amp is to find the UTC-LS33,34 output transformers.
But I think Jack from electra print can make decent 40-60R primary 15-20W parafeed transformer......So...enjoy!

Interesting idea...But how to do it, I never done something like that...
Any thoughts to start whit...)

I see...So I connect the primary - to the + of 7.5R winding.
I should get more inductance and thighter coupling lower capacitance...
I let you know...
