The soldering is done very cleanly.
Alright, not silver plated... why don't you cut the wire and show us clearly? It's very easy to prove 🙂

OK here are some pictures. First off the wire is from this manufacturer.

infact its 1007 wire from them.
Welcome to Thai Wonderful Wire Cable

That shiny plating definitely looks like silver, though. 😉
And reports (with comparisons to solid silver cables with bullet-plugs...) strengthen the impression. 🙂

It's either silver plated (as would seem) or tinned copper..
its tinned copper! Says what it is on the site if you guys clicked the link 🙂 😀

OK, it seems like you're right about the wire.![]()
Weird, guess you should have listened to me in the first place since i have them in my hands and can see with my own 2 eyes 🙂 I know a quality cable from a 5$ one.
If I want braided interconnects, I will stick to my Monster M350i with outer shielding foil removed (giving lower capacitance), which sounds great...

U said monster EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!! hope you got them free !

Well, you started by knocking down the connectors which I know as being good 🙂 So if you were to persuade me you started with the wrong foot, as we say in Italy.
Anyhow...

I have a variety of interconnects. I had forgotten this Monster M350i which I'd bought years ago in a corner, since I'd removed its shielding foil just as an experiment, and in the system I had at the time doing that didn't improve its sound quality as I recall.
But I came across it lately and thought why not give it a chance...it's a braided solid core with nice dielectric & good plugs, after all. 🙂
It turned out that, coming after my Audioquest King Cobra, it sounds even more transparent?! Well I still have to switch back and make sure 🙂 but I know I like what I hear, so I'm keeping it for now! I've even considered terminating this Monster M350i braided internal wire with some new RCA plugs I have, since I think the wire deserves the effort 🙂

BTW, say what you like but I still remember how I liked this M350i even before I did my adventurous surgery on it. It had such a liiiiquid effortless midrange, and it still has it 🙂

what about the blacksheeps, ?

Tinned copper is better than silvered copper, no doubt 😉
The theory is that outer plating should be of lower conducting value than the core
In other words "slower"
PVC is ok too
I would certainly hesitate to choose teflon over PVC
Besides, many cables are about construction, just as much as materials
I bet the construction and design will influence more
Partly why I prefer thin and simple cables, less influence on sound
Soldering of ground wires does look bad or even dangerous
Its obvious that the amount of wires makes soldering problematic
And I really have no idea why a signal interconnect should be built like a speaker wire
Yeah, soldering of ground wires looks bad in the sample jleaman showed us.Tinned copper is better than silvered copper, no doubt 😉

Well... the theory may be that, but somehow I like silver plated copper, as it conveys to copper that slight more "edge" it sometimes just needs. 😉
Anyway I'll just try to hear the cables (which are waiting for me at the post office) without prejudice regarding the wires. 🙂

They're over at the post office. I'll go and collect them today 🙂
