Wasn't that a diner scene with Jack Nicholson?pico, you substituted all three ingredients. 😆
That's like making mac and cheese and substituting a few ingredients here and there and ending up with tuna casserole.
"Five Easy Pieces"Wasn't that a diner scene with Jack Nicholson?
I ate the evidence, but just tried my impression of a grilled sandwich, or a panini.
On the stovetop I preheated a grill style cast iron pan, and another that fits inside it.
Using sourdough bread, I spread s little mayo on two slices, and put those sides down in the grilled face pan.
Next up was some pastrami, grated cheddar, sopprasetta layers, and cranberry sauce mixed with a little spiced mayo. Covered this with some shredded onions, more cheese, and added a matched slice of sourdough to cover. Placed the pan into a preheated 450° F oven, and covered with the other preheated pan for 15 minutes.
Turns out I won't add to my clutter with a panini grill! This turned out far far better than I expected.

Oi K-man!
Yes, with family up the coast in crab country and family in the business means we are well cared for. Much of it comes, cooked, cleaned, bagged and frozen. We do get some whole but again it is cooked and frozen. The days of me going out and bringing it home are behind us I am afraid.
How are things up your way these days? I have not run into you for a bit.
Is it time for another video conference?

Thanks.
One of the things my wife taught me with her Japanese background is to enjoy food with your eyes.
That means the colors and the arrangement are very important, so even when we plate the food we pay attention to how it looks. Even when we're serving ourselves at the self serve line.
And we also have a collection of bowls... because you know how Japanese like their bowls at the table... and little plates....

"Rib" is a feminine word.
Indeed, you are correct, my bad."Rib" is a feminine word.
Food-wise it is very good, in terms of time I am hopefully finished with my studies in spring so then I might have the opportunity to breathe occasionally. How are things up your way these days? I have not run into you for a bit.
Is it time for another video conference?
Would love to have a virtual get-together with you and whoever else wants to join, maybe we could plan that for between Christmas and New year?
Sure.
I have never hosted one so I would you or someone else to host it but from what I remember, it was fun. Things got a little foggy as I remember. 😉
