The First Watt is The Sweetest!

Rat nest build back on 2009, NE5532 + 2x MP1620/MN2488 Sanken darlingtons, supplied by 20V and up to 36V,
installed in a recycled Pioneer GM20 car amp case.
Believe it or not it s still perfectly functional 16 years later while being about 24/7 on , the other day i passed it through
the hot water fawcet to clean the accumulated dust, after wich once dried it got back to its PC amp duty.

What I wanted to try too. 2x 12 volts for dual supply.
Should be nice clean power.
It reminds me of a very curious battery low powered amp, the Altmann BYOB. BYOB for Bring Your Own Battery. What was special, was that the board was bare mounted on a spruce piece of wood with a special lacquer treatment. I just checked Altmann his website "mother-of-tone" but it is offline unfortunately. It was highly regarded by big audio magazines. Maybe the man has passed away by now.

Antone happen to have distortion figures for LM1875 and LM3875 with a 16 ohm load? Considering a low power amp where I need 10 watts at most and would like to leave it on long term.
Thanks
Both LM1875 and LM3875 have low distortion.
Should be even lower with 16 Ohm.
1 Watt into 16 Ohm gives typically THD 0.00006% in my simulation.
For 10 Watt in 16 Ohm you need +/-20 Volt supply.
Search for LM1875 in titles in Chip Amps forum. There are plenty of threads with LM1875 information.
LM1875 is easy to find and buy and you need a transformer 2x15VAC.

Here is the circuit I recommend:
