I doubt he did anything wrong or childish...he's way too mature and professional for that kind of stuff you're pointing to...His views or style might be a little tougher for some but when he speaks to you it's like God to Moses relationship. You can only be honoured to get his attention wheather you get right or wrong...Guess why ?
Just look at the number of deactivated or banned accounts here.
If you could be bothered to read the last few pages of the thread rather than expecting to be spoon fed you could find out.
Well..the only problem i have with the last three mega topics where SW posted is that they were...mega topics...I have probably less than 40 posts in all three topics combined and 99% of them were technical with schematics.... i lost interest in looking for God's touch in the valey of slow and painfull death...so i preffer to not look into the desert of lost will.

Should I have deduced the meaning of that statement from the previous pages somewhere?

I haven't heard from him either.Stuart and I have been trying to contact him, unsuccessfully.

No I was responding to the person asking why Scott's account was deactivated when that is clear from comments made on this thread in last few pages. Sorry I'm used to not quoting the post directly above.Bill are you addressing me? I was reacting to:
Back onto the normal wibble of this thread...
These might amuse some
https://www.stereophile.com/content/ch-precision-d15-sacdcd-playertransport-new-firmware
Fodder for those who think timing and phase matter more than full frequency response and have deeep pockets.

Either I have misread JA's analysis or that's the worst overload margins I have seen in a commercial product.

Thanks for that, it convinced me to buy one of the records mentioned in the listening evaluation: Persuasive Percussion.
I concur that I get more record tips from Stereophile than equipment advice 🙂
I posted this link elsewhere on the forum but https://www.stereophile.com/content...avated-shellac-alternate-history-worlds-music might be of interest to lovers of eclectic music in glorious no-fi.

Wow! Someone reactivated the dead satellite! The Black Hole lives! As they say around these parts: "Hey Y'all!"
Bill, thanks for posting those ludicrous reviews...the best CD playback I have heard myself is from a Plextor ROM transport feeding data to my Auralic DAC...fantastic. To mess around with a combined transport/DAC anymore is silly, since most of us need a DAC in ours systems for other purposes already. When using a quality ROM transport you can pull the error flags and know data is not lost by E32s (uncorrectable errors). Embedded transports in stand-alone players hide this and you really have no clue how well the transport is extracting the correct data from the disc.
The main issue when using a high-performance ROM drive is the fact that most cannot be commanded to read 1x, and transport noise can become a factor as the drive spins at some multiple speed...in my case this has lead to using EAC to transfer the disc while monitoring error flags, then playing the resulting files. If I don't care about fidelity I just plop the disc in and go...effectively what someone using that $40k CD player is doing.
I hope everyone is healthy and happy, things are OK here in NC...studio work abounds!
Cheers!

There is something I like about the CH precision approach in that you can plug upgrade cards in, but $46k is eye-wateringly expensive. And I would want a universal disk player to do full surround output as well. I should have bought an Oppo whilst they were available I guess...
That's racist and sexist...The white holes are upset.Wow! Someone reactivated the dead satellite! The Black Hole lives! As they say around these parts: "Hey Y'all!"

LololThat's racist and sexist...The white holes are upset.
It was a joke...I think there were some reports of some sort...some guys can't live without reports in the Lounge section...That is why i usually avoid tellig anything here ..Lolol
Your comment/joke was spot on for...
Many of us are serious audio heads and have been for decades professionally even, but if there was a topic ever needing levity injected in it...it is high-end audio...I work with studio design mainly these days and some days I wish I had some drug to allow me to smile pleasantly through my tears as some "engineer" or musician spouts audio nonsense. To be fair they may actually know something, but a non-engineering approach to audio system design is like baking a cake by just looking at a picture of it.
Cheers!

"The Black Hole" duh duh duhhhhhh

When I was a kid my dad bought a copy of that to try out our new stereo system. I recall that it was rather startling in comparison with the other records we had. Thanks for that, it convinced me to buy one of the records mentioned in the listening evaluation: Persuasive Percussion.
And some science news. James Webb telescope MIRI detector is now down to 7K which is it's operating temperature. I cannot get my head around how cold that actually is! But what caught my eye is the filter wheel they have on that, which can only have been designed by someone who spins vinyl.
As in a jukebox? LOL I can only imagine those are dual-race unsealed bearings ABEC class 9 or better...
Cheers,
Howie
