I had a small packet arrive today...

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

...the first batch of the revised single-ended boards.

I'm aiming to make one of these up and test it over the coming weekend.

Also, the parts I'm waiting for to finish the flip-flop prototype are now on the way so I should be able to get that tested next week too.

Ray

Ray is possible to buy the B.O.M togheter the pcb?

Regards
Felipe

Ray is possible?

I've got a heavy cold so haven't felt like making as much progress as I had planned. I have managed to assemble one of the new SE boards but haven't installed it into my prototype project to test and audition it; hopefully in a day or so.

I have been pondering the question of PCBs or kits. Everything needed to build one of these projects is easy to obtain and I don't really want to spend my time putting kits together so I think I'll just supply PCBs. I hope that isn't too much of a disappointment.

As you can see from the pictures, the PCBs are largely self documenting, with part numbers and values printed on the PCB wherever possible. I'm working on a separate BOM and some assembly notes for each of the boards.

after to be was entire night to read this thread, maybe I have understood that I needed to build my nodac. So, the muting circuit and lp filter are an only circuit board, that has name Single-Ended.
But the flip-flop, isn't clear, It to use only for balanced output or is there another way?

My summary that I have need: the Jlsound with its isolator, then muting circuit and lp filter for only single ended output. But if I want to use also a buffer or gain, for example an output trasformer or tube buffer, I must to consider also another diy pcb (flip-flop or else)?

Almost...

The single-ended board just provides a single-ended output, which you can feed into a suitable SE buffer if you wish. That's what I did with my initial build: JLSounds >> LP filter >> JG Buffer.

The flip-flop board provides a balanced differential output for use with transformers (as with Hazard500's build) or a buffer that accepts a balanced input. I'm close to completing a project that uses a flip-flop board to feed a Broskie BCF tube buffer.

Muting is needed in either scenario.

Hope that helps.

This is very interesting, as I was going to use a BCF following the flip flop boards as well. Can you give any more details?

I may have missed it despite my reading this thread twice, what is the output voltage of the flip flop boards? Thanks for doing this work!

Thanks Ray, I think it was a link to the formula for working it out rather than a calculator per se, but if you have a simple method that would be great :)

My amps have a 50k input impedance, but I guess if it's simple and you could work it out for 10k 50k and 100k others would likely find that useful.
Thanks,
James
