*Folks who have not placed pre-order please do so as soon as possible to ensure that your board is included in the GB.

Here is a preview of the verification build board as rendered by the board fabrication house. Actual board will be blue solder mask. Tented vias are in place - all 14,000 of them! Note that on a large complex boards such as this, I have to verify the build first before ordering all of them.

just placed order for 2 on Etsy. looking forward to this, the last time i built an amp was an Aleph5 over 15 years ago

How appropriate that this is a variant of the Aleph - but much improved, IMO :)

Wow, what amazing work from all involved. JPS64, your layout is impeccable as always. Not a lonely trace to be found, just nice fills. What does the bottom copper look like? Is it a mirror of the top?

Tented vias are in place - all 14,000 of them!

At some point do you think the fab house will start complaining? I could only imagine the impact 14k drill holes might have on productions, even with the best of CNC setups.

This build has my mind racing about build details, the off-board components really open up possibilities. I'm thinking maybe 2 liquid cooled all-in-one coolers per channel, maybe something like https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categ...2018)-120mm-Liquid-CPU-Cooler/p/CW-9060036-WW.

If powering a water pump / PWM fan, would you recommend running the cooling on its own SMPS? Would powering it off one of the extra transformer secondaries introduce any concerns about noise leaking to the amplifier bits?

Just use a CLC between the PWM board and your PSU. There is an Antek with built in 12v secondary that makes this perfect voltage.

A separate Class 2 wall wart 12v is preferable to a SMPS for powering the fan or water pump. Less noise.

A CLC is simple 1mH ferrite choke (cheap $0.20 one) with a 1000uF cap on each end. Add a 50ohm to 150ohm resistor in parallel with choke. That squashes the PWM noise flat.

Water cooling is very attractive for its small size. I don’t like possibility of leaks though.

You can’t beat cheap surplus Dell CPU coolers and a Noctua though. I have put 160w+ on them and they are fine.
