can i desolder it and feed the amp from three sla-batteries in series?
(total voltage is something between 17V and 21V dending on charge)
You should be able to. You don't need to remove the rectifier, just connect the DC voltage up to the AC terminals. The rectifier will only pass it in the correct direction. Removing the rectifier will improve the efficiency a little, but that's it. The chip accepts DC voltage from ±12.5 V to ±40 V (though you need to check that the rest of the board can handle the voltage), and the rectifier will drop the battery voltage by 0.5 V or so.
ouch!!
+-12.5V!!
that would need at least 25V, which i don't have.
Ah. I thought you meant ±17 to ±21. You don't have more batteries? 🙂
Is the TDA8950 going to come In a mono 1 channel version in BTL for a sub woofer amp http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Prom...ever-Finished-amplifier-board/1634776193.html ,or would something else be a Better Candidate.
