Hi JarekC,
Can i confirm that the usb to i2s converter works with Linux ?
The ADUM usb isolator also works with Linux ?
what the cost for both units and postage to malaysia?
thanks

Hi,
AD1. Converter works with LINUX.
It uses native driver for UAB Audio Class 1.0
AD2.
I have not tested this, but should be OK.
ADUM is transparent for USB signals.
AD3.
Shipping to any country is about 6$
Best regards
JarekC
I am asking for more info on these 2 items
I quote
Options cost:
-external oscillators + (additional parts) 25$
-galvanic isolation module 18$
Unquote
Do you mean external oscillators with extrapower supply and the clock signal piped to the board via a wire? I have the Kwak clock and can i use this .? What clock frequencies works with the usb to i2s board ? I have a few oscillators left over from a previous project.
Is the galvanic isolation module equivalent to the digital pulse transformer for spdif output ?
thanks

Ad1.
No.
Oscillators (22.5792MHz & 24.5760MHz) + Multiplexer LCX157 + LDO +RC parts are mounted on PCB.
If you would like use Kwak clock you need 2 frequencies 22,5792MHZ and 24,5760MHz. Signals levels are 3.3V.
Ad2.
No.
Digital pulse transformer make isolation on SPDIF side.
Module (ADUM3160) make isolation on USB side.

Hello JarekC,
As indicated If possible I confirm what I'm looking for:
guglielmope x1 - I2S - Italy (with galvanic isolation and external oscillators)
the same solution I can see in many posts of this thread.
Have a nice day.

Hello,
I'm also interested in this, SPDIF version, but have no great experience with diy. Is there a list somewhere of the steps needed to have it up and running?
Thanks,
Gio

Converter is ready to use.
For all systems Windows , Mac Os, Linux it uses native drivers.
So you connect converter to PC and it should be recognized automatically.
In system it will appear as "Audio device"/"USB->SPDIF V1.0x"
Sorry but at this moment SPDIF version is sold out.
New PCB version soon.

Hi all,
New PCB for USB-I2S version is READY.🙂
Yesterday I sent files to PCB factory, so test pices should be on my desk for 10 days.
Connectors on PCB:
USB - USB bus (type B)
I2S - I2S bus (IDC 2x5pins raster 2.54mm)
POWER - input for external power supply (2x1 pin raster 2.54mm)
JP3 - jumper for selecting USB Bus/External supply, instead jumper you can connect switch(3x1 pin rasetr 1.27mm)
LED - Power LED and Fs LEDs (each Fs has own LED) (6x1pin raster 1.27mm)
J3 -input for external master clock (4x1 pin raster 2.54mm)
Changes compared to the previous version:
-galvanic isolation on PCB (ADUM3160 + LDO)
-shorter track for Master Clock signal (from Xo to TAS1020B)
-elimination of the multiplexer in the Master Clock signal path
-sampling rate signaling with 4 LEDs (each has its own LED)
-series termination resistors on the I2S bus lines
-22.5792/24.5760MHz generators + LDO can be mounted on the PCB, or connected via J3 connector
-additional 16-bit modes for connecting 16-bit DACs such as TDA1541A, TDA1543, etc. (during testing)
-AC-3 passing through mode (during testing)
-derived power to the I2S connector, ability to supply DAC
-smaller dimensions, only 67mm x 30mm
-4 mounting holes
Best regards
