I took the auto on the display to mean auto.

Why so many cycles instead of 3-4?

Why are you using the extension leads? They skew readings.

What do the replacements read (using the same exact configuration that you used for the original caps).

Oh I see, I have no idea how to turn that off, I'm going to go back through the manual again.

Only been using a scope since year, I will do better.

I'm not using extension leads this time, yes I now know they do.

The replacements reads normal, and the THT caps have the lowest ESR.

The scope seems to have a single trigger mode. Use it to capture a usable waveform.

You don't have to use a handheld scope. The output has positive and negative rails.

Not all class D amps are noisy. The attached image is from a budget lightning audio amplifier. This is 10v/div.

It looks like 50Hz but the scope hasn't been calibrated in MANY years.

You need to spend as much time as it takes to learn to use your scope. If it takes a day, a week... take it.

Yes sir. Well I have gone through the manual and it seems like I need to use the single trigger in manual mode.

Okay Mr Babin, this is 1 Khz sine wave going into the amp. I use the signal generator of the scope. It's a stronger signal than my phone, plus I can freely take a pic.

It starts to distort around 90 volts pkpk.

Is this driving a load?

The scope can probably export image files.

No load I haven't gotten the resistors yet.

It can save them, there's nothing about exporting them.
