I'm not convinced that there's benefit in chasing low bass with just a FR. Especially with the real world problems of managing bass below 400hz.
I agree completely. I started using large woofers as bass augmentation early on.
Hi,
I can get samples but the first shipping quote was very high so if somebody really wants them badly enough it can be arranged.

That would mean very low WAF factor 😀 and I just thought it looked beautiful

CSS Bob and I are discussing how to make this work. I will see if we can bring in a pair of each the W8-1772 and the W8-1808. Will let you know.

Qt would be suitable (by the factory number)
dave
i'll take a shot at that one,
W8-1772, Qts .27 = BLH
W8-1808, Qts .44 = BVR, OB, ...
edit: sorry dave we were posting at the same time. lol.

If Bob and I are able to swing a deal, I was thinking like you mp9. My pal Dave will be involved with this though so nothing is written in stone yet.
First quote on shipping has delayed this as it equaled the cost of the four drivers. We are still trying but it's not worth that just to be the first kid on the block.
Shipping small items is stupid expensive these days. Often equal or more than the item is worth. That severely limits my ebaying lemme tell 'ya.
Well, we're really not any closer to swinging a deal as the "cheap" quote was still about the same as the drivers so maybe I will have to look elsewhere.

I didn't get to hear these yet but I have held them in my hand and they are gorgeous. Very sexy drivers I tell ya.

Hi Cal
I'm not sure who quoted you for shipping but they must provide some kind of EXTRA service....I've been in contact with TB and waiting for their distributeor to give prices for ages...finally got the details and they are 250 euros a pop, and I make that about $345 at todays rate......ok so it might not be the exact equiv when PE announce prices........but
its surely very exclusive for us brits

Forgive me, but... who in their sober mind would shell out that kind of quid for a Tang Band? 😱 😕
Cheers!

Would it make you feel better if it was rebadged with a danish name?
That price is higher than what I was quoted for the drivers. The shipping was the sticking point. My source is Creative Sound Solutions (CSS). He is a distributor close by. He was trying to arrange it with a person in Japan but scared me away with the shipping. I still have my fingers crossed but that price is not in the budget.

OK, so that's with small order shipment.
By the time PE gets them, they could be in the typical TB price range 🙂
Cheers!
