nice. very good-looking disign. do you illuminate from beneath driver?
looks like mysterious, enigmatic room. I like it. I've approve any nonstandard part. that's why we do DIY. isn't it?
my sitelites will be substandard too. I hope...
it's just a picture, not photo yet.

Thanks for the compliments ;)
No, the lighting is from above, the floor is shown as blue glass so it might give the impression of having light come up through it. Blue from the floor reflects on the speakers as they have a gloss finish. It's a bit of a fantasy room actually, intentionally enigmatic ... now just to get things to levitate :)

"my sitelites will be substandard too"

I assume you mean your satelites will be ... um ... err ... non standard?
:smash: I don't think you want substandard!

Yep, now looking at your website, I'd say you definately don't want sub standard speakers ;) (nice work)

Those are compliments I can certainly live with :D
Yes I'm an artist inside, although I'm a bit of a hybrid of technical and artistic interests - I enjoy challenges that merge both together, this is why I'm drawn to architecture, photography, design and audio. My filing cabinet has hundreds of sketches of speaker designs I will probably never build, and I always have a pen in my pocket and paper ready to capture that new idea that comes to me unexpectedly.

to paulspencer first

hello paulspencer! :)
you wrote like A-bomb father.
his laboratory has the paped's only and other rubbish either...
like me... I'm artist too (inside only). it's not nice but.... as is.
ok. I'm realy still looking for any ideas about satellites disign for my marble sub. now I have several. first you can see in the web site, http://www.artmaydan.org.ua/satelites.html
another- my son will place there asap.
I have bad filling bout future in my country. should our next President been criminal - I'll getting out there.
impossible to living.... anyway - I'll try to create something new till now...

Yury, if you are asking for ideas I don't know what to suggest. As creating arty speakers is such a personal thing, it's difficult to make suggestions, and as an artist you probably want to build something that originated with your own concept or idea.

Still, looking at the rendering of your satelites, they have the look of open baffle speakers. I don't think they are OB, but the form and the materials seem suitable. Have you considered it? ... Perhaps even an integrated open baffle and integrated sub version. You could also play around with the form of the baffle, try some curves, use a novel grille (not the usual cloth but have some metal bars which could be more acoustically transparent). Exotic materials suggest to me an exotic design. You could create different versions as well - monopole, dipole etc.

Hej PatrikF! :D

Hi there, fellow audiophilicians! :clown:

My system consists of a Pioneer 668, a homebrew preamp feat. the OPA2134 and Rotel "Rotzilla" RB-1090, feeding a quite silly pair of loudspeakers - Ino Audio piP. Don´t be fooled by their looks - the drivers are not the originals from Audax and Vifa. You can choose to be fooled though, like I was before I heard them. I went  and bought a pair. (-3dB around 34Hz in-room, for one fun fact)

Now I´m saving up for a pair of Ino Audio´s larger models. Meanwhile, I´m getting some bass modules.

Pictures? You want pictures? M´kay then.

That looks like a great PC music system. Do you use your computer for eq or anything like that?

It makes sense to have a PC music system, as many of us spend more time on the computer than in a living room with a big system. So a PC music system as it is small scale and near-field can be excellent value for money. Also you can rip your CDS to wma, which can be lossless and the flexibility of how you want to play your music is great - make your own complitions etc.

Only problem if you have downloaded music, the compression is obvious. How do you find your system works with such music? Is it forgiving?

new satellites disign

I've new design for satellites. availability there

http://www.artmaydan.org.ua/satelites.html below first ones.

it should be sphere inside and sphere - part of outside design.
these satellites I need for my subwoofer. I think it's have to be suitable for marble cube sub. isn't it?

2 paulspencer - I think compression sound incomparable with real audio. I like computer's much, but see the difference...
