Very good. How does it all sound? Looks very impressive.
Sounds very good, long list of superlatives kind of good, but I'm not gonna list them all😀. Let's pick time coherent, natural, dynamic, authoritative, inviting. 🙂
I have made a speaker like this drawing:
It is a truncated-cone with a 12" Dayton subwoofer in the buttom :

I have posted this earlier, but many of my pictureuploads are gone.

It just needs a little more cosmetic adornment...

😱
😉
Sweet. My surrounds are built (or are actually being rebuilt ATM) in a very similar manner, except I use a CD+WG for the HF and AE TD15S and TD10M and have the HF as the top box. The original test model used JBL 2225 and 2123.Dears,
🙂 😀

Hi Brett,
have you built the wg yourself and measured directivity?
I am pondering on how to make a conical wg for a dome tweeter
and wish it could be done with several boards of mdf piled up.

Sorry Xmax BR I'm sure you've answered this elsewhere, but can you tell me the make and model of the three individual drivers used in the speakers shown in your photo and is this a kit or a complete DIY project? One last question. What's the speaker's sensitivity rating?
TIA

Sorry, just seen your post.
Autotech in Poland have a good range of flares, some of which may be suitable.
Zaph uses a couple with success on his site and there's a guy in the US that makes a number of the both symmetrical and non symmetrical WG's for domes, but I can't remember his name at the moment. I'll post it when I remember.
PS: Saw these on PE just now and thought I'd mention them. No ides how good they are or whether will suit your needs, but there are 2 more in the lineup.
Nope, I bought them from PE. They are a copy of a QSC WG that they used to sell as spares until too many DIYers started buying them. I'd heard a two way using them, Beyma CDs and an AE TD15M (active) that I thought was excellent and that's why I chose them.Hi Brett,

Can't see why it can't be built this way but you'd have to get the setting for the router guide exact.I am pondering on how to make a conical wg for a dome tweeter

Brett,
thanks a lot for all the info. I'll give it a good thought because I am
not sure if it would be worth my trouble and expense to build one.

I see 2 way speakers with Audax HM210Z) and Audax tweeter on your photo . Would you describe how they sounds ?A short description of my system (almost finished) using french brands of loudspeaker 🙂 : Bass is Atohm D300P04, medium is Davis 16GKLV6M, Tweeter is Audax TW034. Passive crossover with 16GKLV6M/TW034 and active crossover between D300P04 and 16GKLV6M/TW034 via a miniDSP 2x4. Bass is powered with two Hypex 2.0 modules and the medium-tweeter section with a Poppulse T150.
This is my firts multi-amp system and also my first three way system ! What a big sound with all this, "live sound" at home![]()
Hi realtom,
This is the HMZ2125 kit from Audax build 25 years ago !
Kit Audax HMZ 2125
They produce good bass but the medium is "a little back" , the tweeter is nice sounding but really coulored in fact compared with the D2608/913000.
The speakers i'm using now are the Nomex164 :
Construction d'enceintes "Nomex 164" - Le blog de pguerin
Much better speakers IMHO

R-Carpenter - Love the burl wood finish. How did you do that? Were you able to find four nice blocks of Burl Wood somewhere. If so, where?
Really professional looking speakers. First Rate.

Hi Steve.
Veneered MDF with 2K polyurethane finish. Poly was sanded to 1000grit and polished with couple of different compounds.
Thanks!
