My 18"H x 12"W x 12"D sealed box out of 3/4" baltic birch. Using the SB Acoustics 10" shallow driver, aluminum cone. I modeled the enclosure on SpeakerBoxLite, -3dB at 25HZ without any bass boost. This driver modeled better than the Dayton Ultimax 10. Sounds tight and fast. This driver is made for tight spaces, but sounds really good in a more normal box as well.
Stain is a mix of Black gel stain and Old Masters Crimson Fire gel. Came out a bit darker than I wanted initially, but I love it.

Correct. 18" drivers mounted with the magnets outside the enclosure - this is the 'baffle'! The rear panel is 2" ply, walls are 1". First significant panel resonance above 500Hz.
Somehow doubt those are the "backs".
Yeah, the driver can be reverse mounted.
The drivers chose me - six Brand new old stock B&C 18PZB100 at £125GBP each! Not the perfect driver for sealed enclosures, but I'll accept lower sensitivity at that price! Each powered by its own bridged Behringer EP2500.
I also have four RCF LF21X451 21" waiting for enclosures; each will have its own bridged t.amp Proline 3000.
Note this is a PA, not home system, and built for sound quality and dynamic headroom, not maximum output 'boom'... The tops are horn loaded 2x 12"/BMS coaxial compression drivers powered by four MC2 amplifiers. It's quite a compact system but crazy heavy - not ideal for a lone 62 year-old!

These are BMS 18" subs and they cover 10-38 Hz, with minimal EQ
The red trace is one sub at the point compression starts to come in at the low end, the trace for the two 18's used. I pass over to 12" subs to 70Hz and these all blend with mains and surrounds which run full range.

Wow, impressive, thanks for explaining 😎 ! Nice design. I'm thinking about what to do below 38Hz. 18" does look good 🙂.
If you do the maths you realise that low frequency is very displacement hungry, 30Hz is easy to get high SPL but 1/2 that to 15Hz and you will need nearly an order of magnitude more displacement. The BMS 18N862 subs are a very good choice at these frequencies for an 18. They are not heavy, high BL and 19mm of displacement and good efficiency.
I'd add a 24" for the 5-18Hz if I had the space and budget !

Hehe, I have more humble desires, for sure 🙂. I'd be happy reaching 25 in a nice way, the one musical piece I have containing 18Hz is not enough to go that far, and even 25Hz is rare in my music collection. I've been thinking about cloning this "baby", since it was designed as partner for my 250Ti's. They are impossible to buy, but finding a 2245H may be a challenge too. The box is big and I'm not in a hurry, so I'm still looking at options and educating myself. But 18" seems like the right choice 🙂.

In reality I think there is more than you might think to the lows, they seem to addd a foundation and acoustic reality to things. I like the JBL 18" paper drivers, the challenge with them is low Xmax and often designed for a ported enclosure, but they can have very low MMs (effective moving mass) with good enough BL and other parameters including efficiency. I'm less of a fan of the car audio style high MMS massive BL, low efficiency solutions
