Hi Bonsaï
Just some thoughts....
I think that the actual unpopulated NX pcb from Jim's audio may suit the SX design if we add a couple of jumpers (to bypass the pre-drivers) and connect part of the VBE multiplier to one output source emitter....
Or maybe we can use populated NX amp, reduce power supply voltage and increase bias current...

Yes, the nx-Amp board can be used but it will need some jumpers and track cut and soldered.
Better to use the single sided sx-Amp proposed here.

Thinking backwards, the sx amp will also form the basis of a fine 50 W class AB. Drop one output pair, raise supply to +- 35V and change the bias generator to class AB style.
Not yet finished with the burn in but the Nx amplifier sounds REALLY good so far!!
Nice work Bonsai!

Do, pics please 🙂
It's actually just on a test heatsink, not yet in a chassis so it looks quite ugly for the moment. As soon as it is decent, I will post pictures. 😀
Ciao!

This is the DIY audio forum. We like seeing them without their clothes on. 😉
Don't ever say I didn't warn you... 😀
Be affraid, be very affraid!!!!! 😱 😱

I now have the second power supply ready and everything will sit in a nice chassis when all tests have been done.
Ciao!

Beautiful!!!! That's the way I like to see them. You usually can't see much once it's in the case. Thanks for the great picture!

Thx! 😀
Nice PCB! What process did you use?
Thanks

The photographic method of course.
I can explain this more if anyone interesting about this.

And sometimes from local supplier

I'm afraid i haven't big heatsinks for class A.
