their cone shakin too much .. the cones r movin too much ,, i think the problem s cuz of that .. i don have problem w the whole cab when i turn down the bass pot and in low volumes , but when i turn it up oooooo
... the subs startin to S*** !!!!!!!!!!!! and if i tryin to turn on the ultra bass switch on my preamp ....... lol ... i think u know what will happen !!!!
lol ... specialy when i m tryin the B string ,,, !!!!!
i think i don have any problem w it at home ,i really really don like its sound 🙁 , it s stopin me to continue practicin , it s some how borin not really a warm sound i donno why ,, but i don like it .i have a professional bass w a real good active electronic system & eq on it , i think the amp decrease the quality of my bass too much , it sounds like a cheap bass 🙁 ..... but at all , better than nothin at home !!! , but no use for hangin out with .. lol
it s not better if i tryin to buy a practice marshall combo amp ?? .lol ... it s too expensive ! bout 500 $ for just a 65w bass amp w one 12" speaker !!! not good for hangin out and playin w band but good for practicin ! , it s too expensive but atleast it will not disapoint me !!! ... 🙁

Hehehe, the ultra bass switch is for usual cabs with poor low bass response, it's normal you can't use it I guess.
You should try to seal the pipe at first. Or use a shorter pipe. This will prevent the cone from moving too much, it's probably tuned too low. Using a shorter pipe is the best solution.
Are you sure that your cabinet is completely sealed?
Also both chambers must be perfectly sealed from each other too... or air will leak and cones will move more...
How did you design the crossover by the way?

hi simonnn 🙂 .. how r u ?
so sorrrry for delay 🙁 ...
i just startin a new job at a new company 🙂 and i m sooo busy in that and i have my univercity exams this days 🙁 .. i couldn t get on so much 🙁 ... so sorry ...
i just give my cab to one of my friend to replace the subs w another 2 rcfs and now it have a 4x12" rcf full range 🙂 ( also removed the crossover & sealed the pipe ) .. and it kickkkkkk a$$$$$$$$$$$ w guitarrrr , it s really great for guitar players , really great sound and hell loud !!! it s very suitable for underground concerts !🙂 ... so now i use it as a guitar amp for our guitar players in band 🙂 .. and they r realllllly happy w it .. but w that hell loud guitar sound i cant hear my bass anymore 🙁 ... lol 😛 ...
i decided to build a small 4th order sub w one of sony subs to use at home w my hi fi system ... i m a bit free these days .. and i ll tryin to design somethin for that .. what do u think ?

I'm fine! And you?
4 RCF ??? Hahaha, yeah, good thing you sealed the pipe and removed the crossovers for guitar players, better sound. I hope you didn't lose too much money on this. With 4 RCF, the efficiency is really high, that's why it's so loud hehe!
We will really need to find a solution for your bass. You need to be louder than these guys!!! 😀
I wish you good luck at your new job, I hope you get alot of money so we can build a good bass cab ! 😉
Yeah, a small 4th order subwoofer would be nice if you don't want to use a lowpass crossover. It'll be hard to do a small box if you want to have flat response down low. If you can sacrifice some loudness, you could go isobaric with both Sony subwoofers to get a smaller box. I hope it will sound nice this time. I'm starting to hate these subwoofers, I guess this is why the cab design didn't work. As you said, everything else seems to be ok.

Hi Ahmad_tbp
Good to hear that you have a use for your box. In my very first posts in this thread I said that you needed extended low frequency PA drivers. These won't be cheap but they will keep up with the guitarists.
Good luck if you decide to try these once you gather the money.
Let me know if you need help with the power amp and good luck with the job and the music.
Cheers

hi simon / quasi 🙂 & wellcome back quasi 😉 ... very glad 2 c u guys here 🙂 ... thnx for help 😉
i m fine ( i mean just enough to be alive ! lol 😛 )
yup , the cab s really good for guitar players , i force them to turn it down so i can hear a very low bass sound at background ! hehehe 😀 i didn t lose too much money for them 😉 , just get money for cab and 2 rcfs ( they bought another 2 rcfs themselves) ,..
i just buy a pioneer privat series hi fi system , it has two big 3 ways system loudspeakers , a 10" woofer / one mid / one tweeter driver , i just buy the system cuz of its big loudspeakers , and think this speakers must respond well and loud enough for my bass 🙁 but when i playin a cd with it , the bass guitar sound come out very very clean and loud through it , but when i m connectin my bass they become to s**** ,,, why ?
... yup quasi u right a really extended low freq PA drivers ... but if i wanna buy a real good pa driver for a bass guitar , i have to buy a 12" jbl extended low driver for about 400$ here !!! ... and it s really expensive ... and at sure a 12" driver s not enough for me if i wanna have a loud sound ! ...
and one thing else ... one of my friend have a 65w marshall bass combo amp , it has just one 10" driver , but it s reallllllllllly reallly load for a 10" driver
and a not bad bass respond ... why ? how it s possible w just one 10" driver ? is it just cuz they use a real bass pa driver for that ?

Did you measure the output of your bass guitar?
Maybe it's making the amplifier clip?
Does you bass guitar sounds ok with 4 RCFs or it still sounds bad? (Don't play too loud to prevent damage...)

hi simon , & sorry for delay ...
no i don measure the output yet .. it dosn t clipin , the sound is not too good , when i turn the system volume a little high the speakers startin to .... lol
my bass sounds toooo treble on rcfs 🙁 , i don like it ,, really not much bass ... i mean no base note freq , just some so treble harmonics ...

What amplifier are you using to power the Sony subwoofers?
You could go simple to isolate the problem, like a single Sony subwoofer in a 115 liters box tuned with a single 10 cm diameter pipe 30 centimeters long...
But, I don't want you to waste more wood hehe, maybe the Sony subwoofers are **** and the Xmax was too exagerated to they can't reproduce the bass your bass guitar can produce.
Next time, you should import some nice speakers I guess if you can get more money hehe! Or get a bass cab to go the easy way! 😀
