Depending again on pal compatibility, but for the money I would get one anyhow. My pc can output NTSC cant it? I'll install it on the front of my pc case if nothing else.

Heya bodgy, it should do though id check if i wer you as some cards that have the tv out function only have one of the 2, some nividia cards have both, they normally have a jumper on the card at the back panel, though not all.

Can i have some of your karma? 😉 only send the good along though lol.

My Radeon 9000Pro has a jumper for switching NTSC/PAL for the bios and etc, but I can change the format in the drivers in windows. If I set the jumper to NTSC, but set the drivers to PAL, ill have the bios and windows logo and all in NTSC, but windows will be in PAL.

Trev,
I can test the Hip Gear screen for PAL when I get home if you want (im at school rite now, TGIF)

Hello, me again!

Sorry for all the stupid questions the other day, but now, I'm into the real thing, I've stripped the LCD, opened the projector, putted everything in place, the picture is ok, the colors are nice and all, but one thing bugs me... I just can't get all of the image, it's like there was a circle around the LCD that hid the sides of the pictures... It's quite annoying because as is, I just wouldn't watch my movies on this.

Can anyone help on this one?

no prob. Perhaps these lcds are sold in your area in PAL format? i suggest that you contact hipgear or intec and ask them.

Actually you can convert it, i have a schematic around for it somewhere, you should be able to run it on vga too, though i wouldnt bother on that reso lol. Most lcds run in ntsc nativly beleive it or not.

perhaps fixable with another condensor, or a bigger projection lens...

I recomend both, also maybe your light guide or channel is too small, its probally just as easy to build your own, it would probally be finnished in about a day and smaller. besure to have a look in surplus shed as they carry a wide range of projection lenses for slide projectors, and 8mm projectors.

Ok, here is the thing, I've already put too much money in this, and I need the cheapest solution possible. I think you were right, it was meant to be 1x1... Now, I don't have any surplus shed around here, believe me, it was hard enough to find a slide projector, can't even think about some pieces...

Plus, I suck at building things, so building a custom projector is, at best, a very bad idea... I'm willing to buy off the internet for the projection lens as there don't seem to be any other way around, about the light channel, I taught I had it right until I realized a magnifying glass was in fact downsizing the light (YESS! I'm THAT stupid...) I need an easy way you know.... Real easy and cheap...

As for the projection lens, what kind of specifics should I be looking for? MM, f/??, that sort of things...

By the way, the lens I'm using now reads 3 inch, f 3.5....
