This one is good to at .50 a foot.
I use it too. Not much difference between the $20 a meter and $.50 ft wire.

Yes there is DCSk 10 m - 2 x 2.5 mm2 transparent loudspeaker cable I: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics can't find 1.5mm thoughDSCk
This is competent cable and lies flat. It isn't cork coloured so you'd have to paint it. Maybe they do a transparent version.
This looks pretty similar cable 1.5sqmm. The strand size is the same.Yes there is DCSk 10 m - 2 x 2.5 mm2 transparent loudspeaker cable I: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics can't find 1.5mm though

Thanks. I'm having second thoughts about running wires directly across the floor, I don't think I'm ever going to be happy with it. The U-frame woofers are against the side walls and the main speakers are usually farther into the room. I'm thinking now of running wires around the edge of the room either side, it will mean a longer run but no great shakes. At one point it will mean crossing a doorway but I'm thinking flat transparent cable taped to the floor with clear tape under the door would be ok, am I being anal?
We had an interesting, if perhaps pointless, discussion about DF along the way...........

Cripes! Just run it around the door frame! At one point it will mean crossing a doorway but I'm thinking flat transparent cable taped to the floor with clear tape under the door would be ok, am I being anal?
You are in danger of becoming banal!
How did you know my ceiling is white? Anyhow...I could dangle my widebands from the ceiling like Linkwitz did with these....SB1980-3way
The lenth of the cable must be equal.
Ideally, this is true. Actually, the resistance needs to be the same, so it would make sense to use different gauges and possibly even a resistor as a last resort?

That's no good. Once you start soldering an extra length on you make electrical discontinuities at the joints that cause reflections. You don't really want to go there.Just add extra length to the shorter side!
But SJ was talking about buying new cable - so he can buy the appropriate lengths - no joints! That's no good. Once you start soldering an extra length on you make electrical discontinuities at the joints that cause reflections. You don't really want to go there.
