This is what Nelson presented how to measure the VFETs
Perfect. Thank you Walter!

First time i thought about it in detail . The case of V-fet will most probably have connection to case/safety ground via the screw. So why do we use a mica washer?
Mhm, i must be wrong, but in my thinking connection to ground is given even with washer because of the screw and all metal housing of V-fet.
tnx,
stefan
It is extremely important to understand that the case of the TO-3 Vfets is conductive, and the only connection of source to the circuit. Therefore the cases must be attached properly, and the proper washers used. Bolt from the top, small washer, lock washer, nut. Make sure everything is secure and well-aligned, then solder the pins.

The pinout of the Vfets is here -
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
Mica is used as we don't want to have the Drain connected to chassis ground.
thank you , I do have my "variable" FW-Fn chassis with bigger heatsinks. But since this one has other rail-V and therefore other PSU it´ll get it´s own new case.
Also i´m shure there is some more 24V FW-Fn entertainment to come so that ol´ big case is not in retirement.
best

Hi, what is the suitable watt rating for the resistor?
Thanks
All resistors minimal ratings are 1/4 watt´s with one exception 0.1 Ohm are 3 watts.
Resistors watts rating can be little biger versions but not smaller ones.
Example 0/5 watts for all and 5 watts for 0.1 Ohm.
Best regards
Yes, the Universal PSU will work, it's being used in this guide.
The chassis is a 4U deluxe.
Excellent, thanks. I'll re-purpose my F6 PSU and case.
Hi. Speaking of power supplies, if I go with monoblocks, what is the recommended value for reservoir caps ?
7500uF each or stick with 15000uF ?
TIA.

33000 uF each x 10 pcs is cheaper
Go for psu with " muscular force "

isn't more safe to use 50v caps for the psu? i remember to see somewhere this recommendation and 6l6 has it on the psu diagrams as well.
