Sony vFET Amplifier Part 2

Jim

I am using the BA3 paired with the Aleph J currently running the FH on Alpair 7p. Currently in the process of building the VFET2 kit and should be up and running in couple of months time. BA3 pairs well with Aleph and I hope it should be the same with VFET as well.

Thanks

Has anyone felt the need for including one of the Velleman (or equiv.) speaker protection kits with this amp?

I wish I had the solder-slingin' skills you folks have, but since I don't I'm having someone else build mine now - and this question was posed by the builder.

Thanks!

😱 Be scared! Very scared...

"Papa" Nelson "Wiz" Pass is working on surprises for all good boys and girls :wiz::santa2:

Lots more coming, Party On! :grouphug: :eguitar: :sax::cheers:

And not just amps! :yikes:

Probably 6 months before a selection is available:snail:😡
But that gives you time to finish your VFET amps.

Okay - I got the amp from my builder and it's been warming up for about 45 minutes with no speakers connected. The builder suggested testing the DC offset before I start using it.

Scratch that - I'm an idiot. My multimeter was set up for Vac, not Vdc.

Re-checked it at the speaker terminals and got ~51 mVdc on the left channel, ~26 mVdc on the right channel. I really don't want to mess with the P3/P4 pots, I'm sure I'll screw it up. Am I good to go?

Any other test points I should check to make sure nothing got bumped the wrong way in transit?

Thanks!
