I think not, until someone posts some curves or measurements. We only have seen they look good ( 2 dies inside of 4 mm ) and measure good, with the multimeter.
The ones Generg presented are from Taobao, a different source I guess, than 'eternal hong' on AliExpress. I see BTW he has raised prices again to 32 $ a piece.
Plus another $2 as of this evening ($34)...
Thanks for the reply, much appreciated. Hmmm...how much higher the cost of my hesitation...
The listening panel has weighed in: The feedback version of V2 with minor resistor value revisions wins on all counts.
Before I commit to the artwork. Also, given the results so far, a version with single pairs and feedback may be viable.
Passionate about last raffinement of two pairs version and single one.
Thanks and best regards
🙂
Wouldn't that make him "Uncle Mike"? 🙂
You're much too kind. I'd be the guy who mops the floors at Pass Labs.
I'm excited about the new direction of the project, I'm looking forward to hearing about the switching supply version. 🙂
Uncle Mike is a excellent contributor to DIYAudio, a guy who comes across as your gentle Uncle, no big ego to deal with. The kindness is totally warranted.

+1.
With a bit of luck, I'll get a change to say hi to Uncle Mike and Papa Pass
at BAF this year. 🙂

That's how some CEOs started. At least they could have had that opportunity in the past. Today, not so sure without joining Skull and Bones first. 😉

Me too. Chances are he found one or more SMPS readily available, which would make it simpler for many people to build a VFET amplifier.
i have a question.
If i want to use the frontend from this amp.
Maybe with an BA2 OS or an complete F4
Do i have to adjust R20? or could i take it as it is?

as it is
everything right from it is "just" current buffer , so R20 is dominant for FE stage gain

I see 10 people have bought from this new source of 2SK82 on Aliexpress 'eternal hong' store. Can someone post measurements of this VFET?
Well, THEY'RE both planning to be there!

I must say I read the first 19 pages and then this 40th page.
Due to limited time available I has to skip 20 in between 🙂
Please count me in for the PCBs
I'd love 2 outputs in parallel, or possibly even more.
1 or 2 pairs of PCBs would be enough for me.
Thanks to Mr. Pass and everybody!

I have my pairs matched and I am going to start the build point to point. I have the CSX1 with the permander board running now so it will be fun to compare the two circuits. I will let you know....
How important is checking curves?
I have a dvm and soldering iron. I don't have a scope or other equipment to check curves of the P Channel VFETs I bought from CircuitDiy.
After reading the posts showing variation among parts, I'm concerned that I might not be able to just install them and play when the kit comes out.
Any thoughts? 😕

While we are talking VFET matching. Tell me what is supposed to match what?
8 VFETs per amp, 2xN and 2xP per side. Do we match just the Ns on each side and the Ps on each side. Do the Ns and Ps have to match in any way? Try and find 4 Ns and 4 Ps that are all reasonably close? I have 6 pairs (cx1 and cx2) and hope to have reasonable matches for the cx2. Closest 4 of each? 2 best pairs of each, as matching between channels not important?
