The power of nature...?
After moving in 2012, I noticed we had a spruce tree with Xmas lights left by the previous owner.
I cut out what I could but some wires were already embedded in the bark so I had to leave them.
Eleven years later everything has been consumed except the outlet.
Curiosity got the best of me so out came the DVM for some readings.
Nada, not even 1 milli-volt, AC or DC.
I thought there should be at least some galvanic reaction between the tree sap and the wires, but no.
Money doesn't grow on trees and neither does electricity.
Or maybe I'm just sparking up the wrong tree?

Perhaps the sum of the potential differences across all the components in a closed branch equals zero. 😉
If it wasn't for electricity, we'd all be watching TV by candlelight.
a nuclear power plant's cooling tower in the background?
Portsmouth's coal-fired power station was commissioned in 1894, decommissioned in 1977 and completely demolished by 1983.
The area has since been redeveloped.

I think the expression you are seeking is "Barking Up the Wrong Tree"!
I say this as a person who grew up in Stratford upon Avon. Warwickshire. UK. Home of The Bard!

My Capitalstion is frequently drawn into question. But I remain TRUE to my wordy instincts.
This Film is Welsh, or I am a Chinaman!
Soon showing at Southsea Arts Cinema:

Yes, that's true, however this looks more like a trunk circuit than a branch circuit.Perhaps the sum of the potential differences across all the components in a closed branch equals zero.

I am full of love for Cal Weldon.
Though why he lives in Frozen Canada utterly defeats me! He could be basking on the South Coast of England.
Which frozen part would that be Steve? Having a nice little warm spell on the lower wet coast right now.

I spent the first 20 years of life in the land of Cal and Chrisb.
Not freezing cold at all.
In fact, I never even owned thermal underwear until I moved 900 miles South to California.
Go figure.

Wow, that explains why we never remember anything. They'll never tell anyone because they aren't listening to begin with.
At least that's what my wife keeps telling me, I think.
As my hearing started to go, the first thing I lost was the frequencies of the female human voice.
I said something similar to this to a female colleague whose mere presence was quite irritating to me. When she spoke to me it was even more irritating. I said it as a way to use humor to defuse the tension, but she took great offense. Oh well.

Many Southerners think I am a Northerner! Just because I pronounce New-CASTLE correctly with Northern vowels.
How wrong they are, how terribly, terribly wrong! I am a Midlander.
Imagine how my MOOD has been LIGHTENED by news that Coventry City have made the Playoffs!
Soon we shall be mixing it with the overpaid oafs of The Premiership. Coventry are the real Sky Blues, not Manchester City. They shall fear us. 😛
