Two guys at work, one says to his mate " so, did you go to that zoo at the weekend? " - second guy " wish I hadn't bothered, loads of empty cages, loads, eventually I found one with just a tiny dog in it, so I walked around some more, still all empty cages until I found that tiny dog again". First guy " so what type was it? " - second guy " it was a Shih-tzu! ".
Anyone sent for a long weight/wait as an apprentice ?"My husband has sent me for a sillycoin rectalfire, a pollyparrot capasitator and a fifty twatt appleflyer nodule."
Others include button hole, tartan paint, sky hook and a rubber hammer for tapping glass.
Around the Motorola factory in the early 1970's it was the RF (radio frequency) wrench.Anyone sent for a long weight/wait as an apprentice ?

Every radio we sold back then mentioned FM on the label, as in Handie Talkie FM Radio. The letters "FM" stood for what made it work, F%$#in Magic.
It was "file grease" in the mechanical workshop.Anyone sent for a long weight/wait as an apprentice ?

Send them to the auto parts store to get a set of muffler bearings, fruit valves and overhead floor mats ..... for your 1989 Delorean DMC 13, of course. You could always send someone at a Boy Scout camp for a smoke shifter. Best use of course before going on a snipe hunt.

A can of "instant compression" in a motorcycle shop to fix a blown motor.
In Black and White Photography, yellow filters were used to dramatically increase contrast between clouds and sky for pictorial effects, I guess blue filters would make all but disappear in a regular picture.
Of course, fully overcast means nothing can be seen through them.
Red filter has an even more dramatic effect
Notice enhanced contrast and apparent sharpness.

Many photographers use a yellow filter to “bring out the clouds”. This works by darkening the blue sky, giving a greater visual separation between the darkened sky and the white clouds on the final print. A yellow filter will also give improved penetration of haze and fog.

Here's a real one...
I was in the VHS tape duplication industry for 20 years as an engineer.
Our facility was a high volume duplicator that had both "Real Time" and "High Speed" tape duplication equipment.
Occasionally I had to provide technical support for the sales staff.
Once a potential new customer called with this question....... first he explained "We put on live events, with several thousand attendees, and we record the show live on 20 VCRs, so we can have tapes of the show ready to sell, as soon as the show is over. We always sell out quickly and really need more tapes but don't want to mess around with more VCRs."
Nothing unusual so far but then the question comes..... "So, how fast are your High Speed recorders anyway, and, like, how many copies do we get before we finish recording the show?"
Long pause on his end as he realized .....
I said, "Well Sir, it doesn't quite work like that.... not yet anyway. He just hung up, never to be heard from again.
