I was wearing my sensible hat and catching up on John Wayne movies this afternoon, The Searchers as it goes:
I did wonder if soundbrigade's horsey joke was a play on the word PENGAR (Money). 😕
Anyway, Today is clearly a day for No.6. The splendid establishment Wetherspoons has reduced my Coffee to 99p! Which, as I observed is 66 upside down. Sat at table 66. With free refills, if you can get past the stern middle-class ladies of Southsea who look down on me as something the cat brought in when I am wearing my sensible woolly bobble hat.
Decamped to friendlier territory after reading another chapter of my Dave Robicheaux book. Ruth at Betfred patiently explained to me the Horserace is tonight. Though how horses can run in the dark beats me. Must admit to a frisson of excitement here. I wonder if Antonia, who clearly wasn't born in a barn, will bring me some desperately needed luck.

Tremendous excitement in Yarborough Road tonight! 😀
Apparently celebrating the Festival of November the Fifth, my neighbour Lorna despatched her worthless and expendable son, Damian to start off the festivities by lighting the Lucifers.
She meanwhile clutched her 3-y-o favourite Grandson Oscar to her ample Bosom. Oscar became extremely alarmed at the noise of explosions and the choking smell of Cordite. Retired crying to the Living Room.
Apparently, the explanation (according to Damian) was that the Sky-Bombs fell on their sides, thus being less safe than (gloveless) Damian anticipated.. Thus causing me, the hapless passing photographer extreme Alarm and Distress. My view is I will see Damian in Court.
I really wondered if I had wandered into "The Battle of Trafalgar (1805)". Oh well.

.. I, this morning, stumbled into our splendid local Tesco store in search of a packet of Gaspers.
Imagine my dismay, when Greg asked for payment. I seemed to have lost my Bank Card last night. Complete panic beset the system7. Voices seemed to recede into the distance. 😱
My Motto is that when the going gets TOUGH, the TOUGH get going. Checked my online Bank Account. No sign of Criminal Activity. 🙂
Revisited the splendid Tesco Store. Advised the customer advisor to check the lost property box for a Purple Card bearing my name. IT WAS THERE. 😎
My Copacetic mood now restored, we can continue to consider the puzzle of time-zones in the Colonies.
