Similarly, any battle damage to the Mosquito could be repaired relatively easily in the field.Renovo built wooden mountain bike frames and used them hard in testing. They managed to crack a chainstay on the prototype after a hard jump landing, finished the ride, epoxied the crack together and continued to ride the bike.
I've always had a crush on the Mossie's prettier and less murderous older sister - the De Haviland DH88 Comet....the Mosquito...
(Not the ill-fated 1959 jetliner, but the successful 1930s twin-prop wooden racer that was one of the inspirations for the Mossie.)

Both of those music vids were really cool and the second one looks to be an actual machine, unless they're fooling us. The reason I say that is the music stopped before the wheel stopped spinning. Either way, they both were very entertaining. Thanks for posting.

BAF 2018, the three horseman. I will find some dog pics later for Cal. This will have to do!!
looks like a Leafs fan in that party
It is (or was), indeed, an actual machine:...the second one looks to be an actual machine...
"The machine is powered by a hand-crank, and works by raising steel marbles through the machine into multiple feeder tubes, where they are then released from height via programmable release gates, falling and striking a musical instrument below. Instruments played by marbles striking them include a vibraphone, bass guitar, cymbal, and emulated kick drum, high hat and snare drum sounds using contact microphones. The music score is stored on two programmable wheels that utilize Lego Technic beams and stud connectors to trigger armatures to release the marbles."
The quote above is from the relevant Wikipedia article: Wintergatan - Wikipedia
I think it ran out of marbles. It looks like you have to pre-load the machine with marbles before starting to play a tune, as we see in the first part of the video....the music stopped before the wheel stopped spinning...

We have a park here in Surrey called Redwood. A big dose of history for sure but I won't do that now. What I will do is show you something that was started who knows how long ago or by whom, but it keeps gaining momentum. People bring birdhouses into the park and leave them. Not for the birds but as a community gathering of some sort. It's a rather confined area and I did an guesstimate. I believe there are north of one thousand. Quite the sight in person. Unfortunately I had only my phone to take the pics but you can see some of them and just imagine that many in a 5 or 10,000 square foot area.

Those are good too.
On the way to planet10's place, there is someone who has made a fence of snow skis, all arranged vertically of course and quite the site. No pics from me but perhaps Dave has one.

Wow, I just had a flashback. I was in the supermarket about ten years ago and in walked a woman of about 35 dressed in a simple cotton frock and hairdo that was right out of the fifties. My jaw dropped and I almost proposed on the spot.

Walked past there twice today. I can try to remeber to take pics next time i am past.

Was making a batch of hand sanitizer today when I noticed it tastes remarkably like a Margarita.
The male Panda eats for approximately 12 hours a day.
The male Cal does the same nowadays.
Eureka! That's why it's called a Pandemic!

Funny you should mention that. When I received my gallon of 200 proof ethyl alcohol and started diying my own sanitizer I came to the same conclusion. Do you add anything like aloe as a moisturizing agent for your hands? I was thinking about it. Currently we're using it mainly for surfaces, but also refillable spray bottles to keep in our cars.
...200 proof ethyl alcohol...
Hard to get that high given how quickly water from the air gets sucked into it.
A fiend during uni used to get (US) gallons of histology grade ethanol (basically what you are aiming for), and from experience it needs to be mixed in 2x5 gallon containers with mix.

I have found that I’m becoming more food-centric lately, looking forward to meals more enthusiastically than usual.
