Something to lighten the mood

That would be more reliable than BRM's H16. Come to think of it, anything other engine would be more reliable than that H16.

Still, it's fascinating isn't it? There are a few good YouTube vids about it. I mean, 128 valve springs...imagine assembling the thing!

I lost interest in F1 at around the time Senna died, which to me coincided with the sport becoming less interesting.

In Sweden and most (?) EU countries, it’s mandatory to have your car inspected by authorities annually. I think all cars older than 3 or 5 years must be checked in Sweden, so I my Suzuki underwent a ruthless scrutiny today. It’s about safety and environmental factors mainly. In worst case the car is simply pulled off the street - registration and insurance and whatnot removed and must be towed to a repair shop.
So this is my protocol. ā€œBesiktningsresultat: GodkƤntā€, menas ā€œPASSEDā€ šŸ˜Ž

That's the thing about air cooling, it has to be good enough to keep an engine cool whilst lugging a side car up a steep hill in summer, but not too effective in winter - I used to put a rag in front of the cylinder on my SR125 below freezing to help it warm up for the first few miles. Commuting by motorcycle in winter wasn't the most fun, although when my throttle cable froze open it was "interesting".

I was quite surprised watching American car shows on TV, that they don't have anything like the MOT to make sure that a car is roadworthy.
