Considering how many people leave mobile phones in hotels because they've left them charging, this could lead to some embarrsing messages from reception.

It's always nice when the latest technology is used to improve the most important aspects of daily life.
You see, this is why we need standardisation of chargers. Then any lead, and charger will do. Life becomes simpler 😀 This is far more important that getting Apple to use usb-c -- until apple enter this market.. Those are hard to make to spec, the material has to be non allergic, washable, water proof and so on.
