Something to lighten the mood

A big ol’ can o’ whoop *** went a long way to ensuring future relations.

’talking’ about it ensured we have what we now have.

This is not enlightening my mood.

Tonight I am thinking about my little Bingo and remembering all the good times. I am happy that now, two weeks later, I still can’t think of anything I might have done differently as he was heading toward doggy heaven, nor anything else in his 16.5 years.
Allow me the sentiment.
Thank you. I know you doggy lovers understand.
Cheers.

Hope this one helps...

I used to record my wife but when I played it back to her and she said ‘you just did that somehow’ I stopped.

I love the fact my wife thinks I am that smart. I didn’t need to explain the lack of her logic, I am just glad she thinks that highly of me.
Even if I only tighten the screw on a loose frypan handle or resolder a broken wire on her curling iron, she is so very thankful. I cherish that. It makes me wanted and loved.

I think I’ll keep her.
Lucky man, but maybe back after the 50yr mark.😉

Mysterious events in Portsmouth, UK!

Look at what has washed up on my local beach, and most curiously, above the familiar high tide mark!

Investigations are ongoing, and the local council have attached a notice.

Is this the wreck of the Hesperus, or perhaps the Mary Celeste? Clearly not. Where is the crew? Is it a bomb? Curious minds want to know.

Portsmouth's finest detective, Inspector Clouseau is on it, and he suspects Criminality.

I think an explanation is in order. This news has not yet reached the BBC. 🙁

We have a QR code system here, the merchant has a display as per app, several companies are involved, all have codes.
The supermarkets have a system, where the card swipe machine can display the code.

All you need to to do is take a picture of the code in the smartphone app, and enter the amount (not needed at machine), and accept it, the money is transferred from bank or electronic wallet.

No cards or cash is involved. The service has no charge for the most part...
Even fruit and vegetable carts have such a facility.
One more functional use of the smart phone is added now.

My friends from North America say it is hard to believe, they are not having much of this there.
Africa is also make big strides in this, and yes sometimes fraud is encountered.

Aren't you worried about loss of privacy? What if someone decides that they don't like you and hack into your accounts? What if your doctor calls the cognizant State Authority and claims you shouldn't be eating sweets and so you are not allowed to buy them anymore.

No thanks.

I want my phone to make phone calls and get text messages. Maybe to get Tidal music in my car. But other than that, I will use a credit card (paid off every month) or plain old cash.

I love my wife too.... because after 37 years who else will put up with me.... or her.?

We do a billion or so transactions a month here, GPay by Google is a popular app. There are others too.
If safety was the concern, it would not be so popular.
And the receiver details like name and tax number are part of the confirmation provided to the money spending party.
Privacy is protected, many people use electronic wallets for greater safety.
Details should be available on line.

More than 99% is back in the banks.
Some people bought jewelry, the jewelers could deposit cash.
Not a new Rupee, only large notes were replaced with new ones.
Opinions vary about the need for such a step.
But the danger of fake notes is much reduced, many were printed in areas across our borders, and used there as regular currency.
Some even say the economic crisis is there in those countries because their economies were crippled, hard to believe, but there it is.
Our housing market runs about 40% in cash, that big elephant in the room will take time to handle.

Ugh. In Washington St. they got rid of the State Liquor stores but then they imposed a huge tax on liquor to make up for the lost revenue.

If you go to Costco, their price for a 1.75L bottle of Bullit bourbon is $39.99. In OC the final price is 43 bucks. In Washington, outside of Seattle, it's over 80 bucks! The good folks at Costco show you why: "Our price is 39.99. State liquor tax is 39.99. Sales Tax is... ". BTW, the sales tax is on the State liquor tax too!

So, whenever I travel to the Puget Sound I load up on bourbon and rye at Costco for my family.

BTW, I prefer the clear Bacardi. I got a bottle of Captain Morgan that I use, a splash at a time, when I make mai tais for my wife.

Once upon a time I drove by a gun/liquor store with a drive through in Northern Arizona... it was a Friday and they had a big sign: "Sale on beer and .45". Perfect... cash your paycheck, get some brewskies and go drill some holes in the local cactii.
