can you count me in for 6 boards? how much do i need to spend to get it to my place in philipppines? my mode of payment is thru western union..please advise/help....thanks
I will request formal quotes for the boards tomorrow. At this point ROM pricing is $11.50 per board with 100-200 boards total, shipping per order is $5 US and should be $9 elsewhere, USPS (global) priority mail, as long as you meet the flat rate rate requirement (~14 boards or less). Please verify the rate to your country at www.usps.com.
If desired I can ship to someone in Europe (Jacco?) for reshipping. If we go with direct shipping, we should have some discussion about labeling to minimize the duty and tax impact.
Please update your quantities on the Wiki - http://www.diyaudio.com/wiki/index.php?page=+Leach+Amp+PCB+Group+Buy so I can get an accurate price. As of this morning, we have interest in 138 boards. We aren't near pcbpro's next price break, but I don't know where they are for Advanced. Any guidance there Pinkmouse?
Once I get pricing we can see if it makes sense to split out the european orders, but I doubt it will.

If you send the gerbers to freedfm.com, they price them out, and send you back a link that is connected to their database, so you can input any quantity, and it will recalculate the price.

Will their name on the PCB change the price for us?
\Jens
I tried to edit the wiki to sign back up for two boards but it won't let me sign in. Anyone else having a problem with that?
Count me in for two boards. I will try and edit it again later.
Thanks, Terry

I'll ask
Terry - it works for me. I've sometimes had to log in twice to edit wiki pages.
Hi Gengis,
You pay VAT here in EU (Value Added TAX) before you earn or make any money just for being a customer. And this is just one example of a number of hidden taxes we pay which are not related to moneys earned or profits.
Ayoshak,
It means you have the money on hand (or plastic for that matter) and I assume you earned it, right? VAT is a form of tax.
And I was under the impression we will mail the boards individually and marking the boards as samples. And the last time I check, there were 3 fanatics from UK want the boards, maximum 6 boards per individual.

And Pinkymouse if truely correct about the cost of the boards compared to the componenets that go on it.
And yes, less than 4.5 sterling.

Can someone order the boards fast before he switches back off again ?
Oh, oh, that post just turned me off again.
If its gonna cost me US$9 to get 10 boards to Australia i will up my order from 6 - 10 boards. according to UPS online calculator it will cost $9 using global priority mail - Flat rate envelope (large) and be here in 4-6 days. if this info is correct then i will update my info.

That settles it, the first 2 boards will go to Mrs Terry.
You can change your name to "NotAnyMore", friend !
On the USPS chart a $9 Flat Rate envelope can even carry more than 10 to this location.
For a buck a board discussing postage further seems futile.
I do agree with our UK friends that British customs is in a league of its own.
Ive added 2 boards to the wiki for me too. If ity too late let me know and Ill take them off.

Hi Gengis,
No more generalised tax talk here please. It leads nowhere.
I am sure there are far more fanatics here in UK than three. But maybe their pet projects have nothing to do with sound. I am the one of three mentioned who want 6.🙂
And yes we are talking pennies (or cents if you prefer).
So it is now your turn and I promise I will let you have the last word.

one question regarding the Leach amps. Which is it that people build and how do we distinguish between them? Is the LOW TIM amp the old predecessor and now every one build the super amp, or are they both popular?
the leach super amps have output transistors in series for SOA considerations, having a +/-85 volt rails. i consider the leach super amps as better than the low tim amp!

So the one that most DIYers make and most PCBs on this forum are for is the Low TIM amp. Makes sense now that I look at the schematics.
Better sounding or just more powerfull?
Depends, my young heart is saying more power, but my old head really wants quality🙂
