What company ?
Ive seen some companys from china do the boards and they looked HORRIBLE!!
Maybe someone in China or even HK could provide a hookup?
Digi01?
They're as good as you specify.

We are ALL such funny people
It strikes me as ..uh..er..ironic that this "smaller"
version of the Leach Amp will be more powerful than my version 4.5, circa 1999. What would be the conservative output of a 4 device board?

Ed,
I got the impression that most builders wanted the 6 transistor version, so I stopped work on the 4 transistor version.
It is no problem making the 4 version also, but I thought it might be better not to have too many options to chose from, to get the number of boards big enough to get a low price..
The 4 transistor version should be ok with rails of +-50V, but be sure to ensure enough cooling.... the numbers are not verified yet, but it's going to be arround that depending on load.

Full speed ahead
Jens, you are doing fine. I continue to be heartened by your generosity...providing free design services to the masses AND balancing their various desires. It's quite a task, actually. I watch you efforts with the greatest respect.
My question about the 4 device board was aimed in another direction, and your answer tells it all: +/- 50 V is more than the original Leach Amp had.

For the MJE15032/15033 a group buy would be nice, i can imagine them pretty hard to find if not ordered from ON or Digikey.
Wiki page is updated (to the best of my ability)

"+/- 50 V is more than the original Leach Amp had."
The original Leach as published in Feb. '76 and '77 issues of Audio magazine ran on ±50V from a 68VCT 8A transformer. The outputs were 2N6328/31 or MJ802/4502 (only one pair) for a 6 ohm~8 ohm load, going to two pair for low impedance loads.
Double sided boards for two pair of outputs were offered for $16 a pair plus $1 for postage and handling!!!

The 150 ps. price is about 14.3 US$
Package is kind of out of my hands as the danish postal service is in charge of this end of the deal.
(Maybe the price has changede in the USA since 1977??? )
There it is, take it or leave it.

I am content with the prices Jens mentioned in post 40.
The Leach boards i already have i still consider a bargain.
Thats not counting the many hours i did not have to invest in the layout ( which i am not able to make like that anyway).
(Thank goodness my network is running again tomorrow morning.)

Those boards you have are part of a 25 board order - that is why they are a bit more expensive.

Hello big J. It's a very good price i say. I first wanted to make the boards myself (manually - go figure) but no paintjob and stuff ... well these boards are better. And they would deffinitely make me feel better. Just Imagine :I am content with the prices Jens mentioned in post 40.

8 more and we are at the 50 board mark !
DJK,
do you still have the original 70s Leach article ?
Mind if i ask what the general idea for a parts group buy would be ?
Which parts are others interested in ?

I posted a thread on "marketplace/group buys/" to see if anyone else was interested.

Perhaps this will increase enrollment.
I notice that a lot of people are not selecting the option for the parts. Post #93 indicated parts will be available (but no price is posted on the GB wiki page). Why is most everyone not opting for the parts?
