I'll try to do a drill template later today. I think you're going to have problems with two amps mounted like that.
I guess you are right. Is it best to mount it on the lower part of the heatsink or in center?
It's best to mount slightly below center. Center would be fine on large sinks like yours though.
JW,
Why not just make a universal drill template for the 5-P boards and then you can just leave out any holes you don't need if mounting less than the five pairs?

JW,
Thanks I wasn't considering all the different output devices. At the same time could you have a couple or so, for each type in a 5pairs configuration that could then be used for everything? Just label them by output device type and not have to keep making more variations due to number of outputs?

Theres only two templates to choose from. Labling would make it too confusing as well. The holes are too close together for that.
Re-designed the V3 3pair OPS board. Did this to keep the board width to under 3.5" (so that I can use a 4"X12" heat sink). Tell me what you think of it.

Looks good!
Thanks Jeff, any suggestions for improvements? It will be a while before I actually start the project. Still working on improving my phono stage.

I'll take a closer look later today and see if I can find any issues.
Jethari,
What are the actual physical dimensions of your boards? I would be interested at some point in your boards or the actual design after you get around to them. That looks very nice and does away with the extra length of the 5 pairs boards for those of use not needing the last two pairs. I also have a limitation in width that I can use and this looks perfect for that. I would however be mounting the board in a vertical orientation.

Steven, the dimensions are 3.2" X 8.5". I'm waiting for others to go through the layout and make necessary corrections after which I can upload the individual layer files (pdf/gerber/eagle).

Hari,
Thank you. It looks nice and compact with the nice output device spacing OS has shown to be an improvement over the original design. I would think it won't take long for a couple of the builders to give their approval. Nice work.
