with Vds = 25Vdc / Id = 2.9A the 2sk180 will only dissipate 72.5 watt
don't you think to push it a bit into 150 watts or so, considering 2sk180 could handle 300 watt of power?

maybe with Vds = 36Vdc / Id = 3.5A or so...??

have tried 56V 1.55A with 32 ohm tap
and now 28V 2.7A with 16 ohm tap running hotter will need a very very big heatsink. i'v got 45° in both case.

as for the sound , the first operating point sounds very clean and fast the second one more houmphh and more tubey.
