I know the SissySITs can be parelleled for double the amperage, but i want to try a phase-splitter(same CMOQ-4H) in front of each channel to see if i could get double the voltage instead. Or, use it for bi-amping with just 4 regular channels, possibly doing a active crossover. Possibly both, switchable 4/2 channel mode.

Also, because a huge box looks cool!

if you bridge it , say bye to nice 2nd harmonic dominance

though , maybe you'll like it that way too

if you think of biamping , there is always possibility to use slightly lesser Iq for upper drivers dedicated channels , but I wouldn't use lesser voltage for rails ..... capacity of OS parts is nicer with proper rails

That sounds bad but still interesting... 😉 Yeah two SissySITs in antiphase would cancel the 2nd harmonic if i'm getting you correctly, so 3rd would dominate?

I'm thinking increasing Iq way up instead, get some fans in there. Have a safety circuit in case the P goes short or open, i feel the SITs are worth burning out a few P chans in the pursuit of audio nirvana

Heck, might go 4 channels per side 5U/500 and water cooled for winter, pipe it into my radiant floor heating. 😎

But for sane uses, it'd be great to run the tweeter amps at a lower power.

now seriously - if you want Audio Nirvana ........ make SIT1 ,or SIT2, or SIT3, or DEFiSIT , or SissySIT , or Papa's 50W SE SIT amp from BAF , or poorman's iteration of same with mosfet pucks ....... find proper spks for any of them , and enjoy nirvana

or go with any insane route , but under condition that you know what you're doing ..... or you'll burn some serious holes in pockets

at least invest in some decent loudspeaker protection standalone circuits , to keep them safe

Textural flavor and coloration are very much dependent on the connected pre-amplifier. Sissy takes on the preamp’s personality and delivers it as a clone.

So, If there is no esoteric preamp (of at least 6,000 euros in line or DIY preamp that is in 'Spitzenklasse') - better not to connect to the amplifier.

Sounds alluring. What speakers do you use?

Did you also test with denser Rock or electronic music? I listen to 70% classical, 10% electronic and 30% death metal.

So 110% and I am trying to find an amp that does all three well...

Thank you pras1170 for selling me another set. Need to finish this amp but require extra play money for a new DIYstore chassis. Also, with Vfet kit to be released, need to have funds to jump on that as well. Could cannibalize F5, but think this one deserves its own case and dual mono power supply. F5 has nice Dual Peter Daniels Power supplies, fancy rectifiers and dual 300 VA Anteks....but the F5 was first Pass DIY project I built so it will live on.

Got the additional set of Sits in case I fry one getting this up and running which would be a shame! Always good to have a spare, and pras is running low.

I did the same thing of buying a pair of SITs before they are gone. I’m running teabags M2C amp using dual mono Juma's Easy-Peasy Capacitance Multipliers. It’s dead quiet and sounds great, so I don’t want to take it apart. Will most likely save for another chassis.

Can’t wait to try the SissySIT!
