I'm interested in using those new Modushop mono blocks. Think it'll be sufficient cooling for the THF-51S?
I was just thinking that, I'd love to be able to fit it all in a four heatsink version of a single monoblock. While I have a nice power drill, I don't have a drill press (or a shop for that matter) 🙁
So, I'm wondering if I'll be better off going with the Deluxe 4U from the DIYA store, since they offer a version with just about everything pre-drilled. I don't believe the monoblocks have that option do they? Or maybe it can all be done with patience and a power drill on a monoblock chassis? Lol
I very much prefer playing with PCBs over metalworking due to apartment dwelling 😛

You'll still need to drill the mounting holes for big Tokins even with pre-drilled heatsinks. The pre-drilled holes are only for the UMS standard pattern and will not include (big) holes for elevator shakers (Tokin SIT)
And, if you’re doing it really carefully, you can tap those M3 holes, even blind holes… it takes patience though.
Ah, thanks for pointing that out. I think I'll go ahead and pre-order one of the MonoBlock 4U 400 with four heatsinks, with the plan to stack two toroidals. Tho, I need to still source those toroidals, alongside PSU caps.
co/incidentally - SissySIT pcbs are UMS, but their holes are going, if care is taken, exactly between heatsink fins ...... so one doesn't need making blind holes and taps
Looks like Modushop has the option to substitute heatsinks for UMS. Looks like I should probably add this option to make my life easier? 🙂
The elevator music coming from the Tokin SITs? 🙂elevator shakers (Tokin SIT)
Actually what is the mounting hole size for the Tokins? Is it M4?
Thanks,
Dennis
Yes, M4, and these are the shoulder washers that I used:

Hi ZM,
I could get 2 pcs. "rough matched" and somewhat rusty (!?) 2SK182ES from a recommended reliable source, without data.
Would it be okay, or are matched thingies required?
