Wish to see , both cabinets side to side and sweep an SPL freq test, then we can discover IF all paths leads to Rome! 😆
The official THMini dimensions are 24"x 15" x 24"
Those plans are a good bit bigger, look like they might be for the 15" version of something different?

I don't recall if you said it already but what are your target specs .... (Freq response , SPL )
And since you said just one cabinet it will be used to give some oomph to a 2 way cabinet?
You said with 50hz you are happy right , 40 and you are golden correct?
I suggest something that are already built and tested by the community...
TH18 and keystone are too big...
SS15 is a candidate
And
Why you don't check the PAL12
It goes down to 35hz and uses one 12" driver
And was built by several people and they loved it

The DSL TH-Mini uses a 12" driver, it is 24" tall, 15" wide x 20" deep.The official THMini dimensions are 24"x 15" x 24"

It is considerably smaller than the SS-15's dimensions of 29" tall, 22" wide, 24" deep.
The plans in #2335 are for an 18" speaker, 800mm (31.5") tall x 650mm (25.6") deep.
Ideally around 40hz-50hz -3db 100db spl. The danley THmini 12" looks great.
The ss15 looks great on paper. I done a mock up of it to see real life size and it's too big for my needs, I kind of got carried away after seeing the specs.
I want to make a 'all in one' box. I'll use 2x 4FE32 for midtops and then something for bass. I have already made a portable tham10 version of this which is posted on here somewhere which works great. So basically I'm just making a bigger version, which I want to go lower, louder or ideally both. This version doesn't need to be portable as such. It will just be transported in the van and then used when camping or something where it will just be lifted out the van and placed next to it. So weight is not a issue.
The amplifier board I'll be using is the same as my previous build they are not super powerful so the sub I build needs to be fairly efficient.
I have made 4x tham12s for my 12v rig. So I know they're great! But would be nice to make something different.

Pal 12
Operating frequency: 34Hz----120Hz +/-3db
Dimensions: 30"x38"x15"
Impedance: 4 ohms
Power handling: 400w rms, 800w program High pass 32Hz 24db/octave minimum
With the lab12 driver but there are other 12" s that you can use nowdays

The Pal12 is only 15" wide and 1 inch more tall than the SS15
it is tuned to 35Hz
with the PRV 12W1600 it will give you this
300W at 8 ohms 10.5mm XMAX
the 12W1600 cost 199 USD
the SKAR DDX12-4 cost 161.49 USD as of now
take in account that HornResp exaggerate the peaks and dips

This one looks brilliant and I love the suggestions! Really enjoy reading through the threads regardless of if they're what I'm after.
That one is too big for me though. Im thinking more total size no bigger than around 40cm wide x 80cm high x 50cm deep.
Basically a taller tham12 would be perfect. If that's how it works to fit in more horn path to gain either lower or higher spl then that would be ideal. Wether the extra size would be worth the extra gain though?

Iron Law, remember ?
LOUD, SMALL , LOW
pick 2
TH's that hit lower have a longer Horn Path
so only way is to grow some of the dimensions
that being said, if you want to hit LOUDER at the same freq you need more displacement
and that is more membrane area
.... more Sd ( a bigger driver or multiples of the same driver )
like a dual 12"s a single 21"
i have seen TH's that use 4 8" drivers
reading what you have stated as of now, i think the PAL12 fits you like a glove
but again, is up to you to decide
a wise man once said
"one sub is better than not sub at all"
cant recall who... but i was some of the regulars over here
for comparison
JBELL Cube is 184 litres
mSrgrs PAL12 is 202 litres
JBELL SS15 is 214 litres
EPA MOD TH18 FT30 is 515 litres
on this thread JBEL made a "cubo TH" it was the percussor of the SS15
24" by 24" by 24"
it take the 3015LF 15" driver
that JBELL CUBE takes 800W with the 15SW2000
and gives you this
those were made also by some people over here and they loved the fact that
people cant believe that loud BAZZ was coming from "tiny" cubes!

and just for giggles.... how 4 PAL12's will hit with the budget PRV 12W1600 driven at 300W per cab
Bandpass 4 life!they loved the fact that people cant believe that loud BAZZ was coming from "tiny" cubes!

That Pal12 looks really good! I'll definitely keep it in mind for future.
Ive been having a good look around and keep coming back to the tham12 to be honest.
I can afford to go bigger with the size but not quite pal12 size. Tham15 is also another contender although a bit too wide really for what id like

Hey Randy , IDK about the correlation of Fs vs the graph cause i'm using a PRV 15SW2000 for a TH tuned to 40 and the Fs on it is around 52 but sims great on HR, and have 12mm Xmax , that is my next project.
PRV makes really nice budget drivers
I just get my 15SW2000's yesterday and waiting on my dats 3 , I want to measure the TS and see how's the before break in driver and after.
Then when the cabinet is ready do some REW sweeps and see how I compares from sim to real life.

I the name of science! lol
idk if this is valid or not but ....
in order to see how the Fs of the driver affects the response
i made a comparison between the original Fs and a lower one
My cabinet is tuned to 42Hz my driver Fs is 53.14
and i tweaked the driver Fs to 35
this is what i got

that's for the PAL12? looks greatI threw on the ZXi driver and tweaked fill and filter

Nah man, thats the cab I have been working towards for a while now. I have the model tuned to 31.4Hz Fb=Fs but increased the pipe Sd for the PRV. I made a TL template in FreeCAD that lets me fold the box in Hr as I draw it in Cad
