Put in a Rubycon ZL 1000uF 25V cap that I have on hand and I can now play with normal listening level although I would like it a little louder still 🙂 .
set the Tamp input sensibility.....
put better input caps -input resitor and input bias resitor 😉

Hi Salas
I recently bought a Sansui FR3060 TT for 25€ and decided to use it with my old DL160.
I connected it to the mighty riaa and stood amazed at the sound it produces. Of course the riaa is not tuned for this cart so the results are not perfect but now I understand why you like this cart. It produces a very fast and detailed sound without distortions.
I believe I will build a second riaa for this cart...😉

Does not have to do with gain, no.

Exactly.... much better than the JVC I was using as my store TT.
The platter is heavy and the bearing is of the dry teflon kind.
This time I will use Takman resistors instead of the kiwames.

My system at home uses an Ariston RD80 with the Benz ACE Clear and the Salas Riaa.
In my store, in Lisbon, I have a second system where I want to use the Sansui.
I want to sell vinyl in Lisbon

You are very welcome.... I am starting my selling record collection now. (Already have the Port and also some very special red wine)
It will be a good party....
Now back to the riaa... should I use Takman carbon or metal film ?

If you feel that the Denon 160 on the Sansui arm and platter tends towards a zingy sound in the transients, use Takman. If by luck sounds tonally neutral but a bit thick, use Dale.
It may be the TT and arm signature. In that case use carbon ones again since it is not harsh at least with those you test it right now. Maybe a little fooling around with the VTA and the loading can help too.
