Actually the P28 mode without the relay works perfectly on DSC3, much much better than P27 with DSC2 (I prefer the very old firmware with DSC2 but can't find the backup anymore)
That is how i use the DSC3 with pin28 and no relay.
I can not help you with the firmware, the version i use is the 24.12.2023 and is working good.

Made some modification to DSC3,
Swapped C20/23/59/75 with Rubycon 0.22u 232-16MU224MZ22012
Paralled Rubycon 2.2uf 16MU225MB23225 at the back of C70/71/72/73
Very positive, less harsh and more organic sound.

I use dsc2 with power supplies salas ubib 1.3 and Xing U30. The change to these power supplies and from Amanero to Xing the sound improved a lot.
I got similar noise issue on left channel with latest Amanero combo768 running DSD512@48K, DSD512@44K and DSD256@48K all work great, and no problem with BBB. Wondering if there is easy trick I can apply here as well. Meanwhile I hope Domenico can work out newer slave firmware.I solved the noise problem by giving the master clock some extra delay. The U7 74LVC157 Mux had a spare 3rd channel with inputs connected to ground. I removed the connection to ground and connected the master clock coming from the DAC to it. Master clock signal is taken from Jumper 1. The output of the Mux channel is routed back to Jumper 1. Normally the used Jumper 1 pads were connected directly. Now through the mux.

Now the DSD'it also works flawlessly with DSD input coming from HQPlayer. Direct comparison between the AKM4137 modulator and HQPlayer modulator is easy now. And yes, with recordings were it really matters (such as good classical recordings), HQPlayer is better with a rather large margin. But with mainstream stuff, DSD'it modulator is already doing a very good job. But in direct comparison, a bit rough, less smooth and resolving, a bit further away from how instruments really sound. HQPlayer is still worth it when you do not need the ease of DSD'it which enables any USB streamer source.

I believe this is related to dsc3, as I can hear clean sound by tapping into Amanero output directly,
With one combo768 I had issue on 48x512, another combo768 I had problem on 44x512 but not 48x512.
DSD256 is always good,
Domenico also confirmed no issue with the slave firmware.
Hopefully can get some feedback.
TIA.

I sorted out the issue by using a 1m coax feeding the mlck to Amanero combo768,
Later swapping R12 with 1K resistor also worked out.

Almost finished Saviola 2 device, based on DSC2, this is all the parts inside enclosure, ned some work on mounting the things, there will be sheet iron baffles to isolate the noise from the smps and torus transformer. The only thing which I didn't designed but will design it soon is back pbc with usb hub,for cm4 module and optical inputs and i2s inputs outputs for ct7302 Lauout for interconnection is an very good and very short, : )

To bad, ct7601 can't work without spi flash, so I ordered small pcb on which I included spi flash, board pcb will be put on top of the ct7601 to make them spi flash available, it will be a bit of challenge to put jumper wires but now it is so short pin to pin and my hope I will do that without any problem : )

I want such button tooIn relation to post I decited to abandon clasic power button and command structure on touch screen and decided to add Smart Knob which will be the main control thing so that CM4 is now free for anything else for example for an media server or android or whatever I like, no need to care about gui implementation and things : )
Smart Knob will get also an diy rgb ilumination so that whole things look even better : )
I will make that after I finish above device! It will be dsc2 based, isolated push pull predregulator, LT3042 post regulators, and all connectors for digital in will be u_fl . Things will not contain post dac things, so for those who will need i/v or whatever after dac will need to design it. : ) In my opinion the best supply for this type dac is simetric topology, in our case isolated pre regulator and it can be done propertly only with something which is pure simetric like push pull topology or similar. My choice is push pull topology for this-next project. And I will share it in this thread!Any change there will be a compact version of the DSCv3? Something like the v2.5.2/v2.6.2.
Sounds good. Looking forward to it.
Maybe you can make the layout in such a way that the output of the v2.5.2 can be fitted.
A separate board for the power would make things more convenient/flexible to fit into a box.

My idea is to include on-board clean and isolated DC in for dsc2. Also plan is to include SY8511 buck capable for +100V in. Just need to try which is the minimum DC input voltage for SY8511 and if it can work on +5V than the next stage is fixed output voltage of SY8511 for example fixed +4.5Vout, the next stage is push pull regulator which have now stable and fixed input voltage, and finaly an small ferrite ring (FEPTN10/6-3E25) driven by SN6505 for isolated output votage, e.g. +5Vout. Thats pred regulator idea. By this nobody need to care which voltage is at the input and also no need to care about which topology is before pred regulator, flexible and easy to pair with any supply voltage and dc topology! Even a noise regulator can be used. Post regulators LT3042. It will produce clean voltage and ultra low noise for dsc2. Whole pcb will be very small e.g. < 100x100mm. : )
Ground line. As per default I'm very practicing star gnd layout, separated signal lines, digital lines, power lines, connection at the predregulator out capacitor or with sub star gnd at the postregulator out capacitor, I will see what I can do for the best layout! Pcb 4 layers. Top layer signal line and digital line, layer 1 shield layer and gnd line, layer2 dc line, bottom layer shiled layer. The dc line follows the position of the gnd line so that gnd lines shileds dc line. Etc...etc : )

By making this this way fully isolated there is no way to get any ground loop or pickup very possible external ground noise. Push pull topology is very good for any low noise postregulators, it is symmetrical and this is where the noise cancellation comes in and is a desirable characteristic for post regulators. I have ruined several projects with the wrong choice of topology for post-regulators, predregulators was noisy, but so far the push pull topology has proven to be the best for me, almost noisy free. When you put postregul;ator to something like this result is very good! This projecat will be called "ISO DSC2". : ) I forgot something, digital input will get isolator too (CA-IS3721)!

DSC2 regures stable voltage and also very important current noise free since those dac is current mode dac, so to get DSC2 to work propertly you realy need an simetrical toppology which doing by default ground noise calncelation. I'm planing Saviola 3, with Hypex Nilai, similar project to Saviola 2 but now with this topology for everything inside main pcb. And this iso dsc2 project is one of the chain in my next project.

Link above for smart knob uses Levetop which is a bit challenge to understand how to make ui first and later to understand how it work trought uart, hard to design something since you will need one more mcu, I'd like to try this one https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007261678442.html , pure stm32 based which not reguire another mcu. Levetop is very fast device, easy to display for example an gif animation in real time, but whole programming thing is realy an challenge. Levetop can be used without another mcu in case you are realy lucky to get mcu source code and reprogram it to not use uart at all but i2c master mode to control all external devices trought i2c for exaple : ) But its limited to program memory size and number of pins, for example hard to add an ir led function and internal mcu program mem is allready almost a full.
