Shurter on/off fuse units

Practically every new audio device is ROHS compliant. Eventually leaded solder will be banned, one can wait for that. Really hate lead free solder but it has improved over the years. Not enough I think 🙂

I have now repaired AlephJ, M2 next. One thing I discovered was that problem in no way was caused by soldering the posts on the fuse drawer.
Those two tiny balls of solder did not cause the destruction. I layed a 750 degree iron on one of those posts for way longer than necessary, and no damage visible at all. May not be proper, but didn't cause this damage!

Removed power supply to check it over for any problems, all measuring fine. Reassembled amp, installed correct 2.5 amp slow blow little fuse brand fuses, power up with variac. Once satisfied all was still measuring fine, fuse drawer staying no hotter than rest of amp. Few days of all evening listening, amp still running fine. AlephJ is always a welcome return.

The only logical explanation was the dual mono "conversion" on those two amps, I must have wired something wrong, causing damage to the PEM. It has been too long ago, really dont remember how that went. Damage happened. Fuse didnt blow, so no further checking at that time. Only these two amps, of the many amps I have built here, had this problem, and they were the only ones "converted to mono blocks" in my collection.

On to the M2.
