I wouldn’t say that. There are things you can do with toobz u cannot with fets, but also the other way around. Take the SIT-1 for example. I am no expert, but I doubt such a simple circuit would be achievable with toobz.

Yes, that’s one for the books.

But who cares? People were invented long time ago, but I still produce children. Every one special in it’s own way, and also made using various techniques.

Mostly, although I have occasionally managed to sneak in something new. Of course
it often happens that someone else will have thought of it many years ago...

Pity that you did not publish any figures for the Semisouth for apple-to-apple comparison.
Or any active, not-unobtanium Fairchilds.

Onsemi seems to be working really hard at discontinuing our favourite parts but I'll test some of the Onsemi/Fairchild candidates I have on hand.

I don't know why I never saw it in previous searches but apparently Onsemi makes a SiC too! Not inexpensive but the datasheet (SOA, gain) looks nice.

SiC does not give you anything extra to Si for low voltage audio.
You are not working with 1500V+ and 150°C.
