Sealed or vented

FaitalPro 10PR410 experience?

Sorry for my thread hijack here, but to be honest I thought I was starting a new thread, but I guess I was replying... Which might make some sense.

Here's a real-world example to ponder. I'm looking at this 10" Faital midrange for a 3-way project:

WinISD wants to put it in a really small box:
0.131 cubic feet (3.7L) sealed for .705QTC, F3 at 198Hz
0.2 cubic feet (5.7L) vented tuned to 102Hz, F3 at 166Hz

I'd be crossing these at approximately 200Hz and 1.5kHz via MiniDSP.

The driver's QTS (.23) seems to point to the vented enclosure, but it doesn't seem to net much benefit when compared to the sealed model... And the box is so small I'm wondering if I have to get creative to make the port fit... Based on the size of the ferrite magnet I might have to get creative to fit the driver in the sealed box too

Am I way off the mark here? Hoping someone might have experience or advice they could offer on getting this driver in the right box...

If you use a driver as mid-range with an electrical high-pass filter, then box size is not critical. That's even more true if you use a DSP unit, with that, you can shape the response easily.
