I think a large cone area and a low moving mass are not a bad combination. It seems hard to prove by measurements, but it would be plausible if this results in better dynamic capabilities than typical hi-fi speakers have.And those pro woofers/mid woofers don't have the specs and measurments to sound good in audiophile terms.

I think 42476 crossed it around 400Hz from a thread I stumbled upon. His concensus was not to go lower than 200 LR2 but 300-400 was better.
