Salas SSLV1.3 UltraBiB shunt regulator

With Ubib the treble is cleaner and more defined. All other sonic aspects sound the same.

We spent many hours testing. The difference is small, but the treble is more analog with Ubib.

In my humble opinion, Ubib is a simpler circuit and much more effective against AF noise. for me it is a big step forward and improved version of reflector-D.

It is clear that both designs are "brilliant" circuits, they are great genius, thank you Mr. Salas!

Je, je, no is only my experience and my personal opinion.

I always like to say that high-end audio is a matter of personal taste! Like haute cuisine, there are differents many winning possibilities... All opinions are respectable.

I would like to say one thing, I am an electronic engineer by profession, reflektor-D and Ubib are electronic geniuses, because they are simple circuits that offer objetives or performance that is difficult and complex to achieve, normally difficult objectives require complex and difficult circuits.

Measuring JFET Idss is a kinda more involved process. You may look it up in many threads.
If you're just looking to match you can alternatively short gate and source pins, then measure Ohms across drain to source. That indicates Rds which is inversely analogous to Idss. The fewer the Ohms the more the mA in other words. If Rds matches between two or more samples their Idss usually matches too.
