looks good! Why not using 2 LEDs?
Another option would be a duochrome common anode led leaving switch's led with no connection.

The "button" can be anything you want with an o-ring to hold it in place (the PCB and push to make switch stop the button falling in and the o-ring stops it falling out). Machine some aluminum or plastic rod for example.
Crimping tool arrived. Cheap cable suitable for alarm systems was used as hook up wire.
Unfortunately,i haven't something better now.
These aren't tinned cables, expecting a better one from Distrelec.

Would be fine if you could post some sample photos.
Unfortunately I am still in a state of limbo without access to anything. (I'm now in New Zealand.) I think there are some pictures in your main thread showing what the end result is.
Keep up the good work Thimios.
What is preferable, keeping the parallel color wires or disassemble and twist these?looks very professional!

keeping parallel is absolutely ok. especially for housekeeping...
I have separated only the first 15 - 20 mm for crimping.

To improve interference rejection it is usual to use all the odd numbered cores as signal return/ground for the adjacent signal flow
Some use a single ground core but couple that to a pair of screen layers that lay on top and below the ribbon.

Which cleansing agent do you use to clean your pcbs?
It is a solution that used as thinner for automotive paints.
They smell exactly as flux remover sprays.
hopefully you are using pure isopropanol...
IMHO automotive paint thinner isn't save to clean the pcb and may destroy electronic parts. it looks like your cleaner has removed parts of the silk screen ...
