How did you eliminate the turn on thump so common on SS amps?
Hugh
Sorry guys for not contributing to discussion but I am in the hospital with a double leg fracture, tibia and peroneum.
I will try to post from time to time in the next two month.
Hugh,
this design is "on thump" free because there is no capacitor in the front end, LTP and folded cascode VAS, CCSs.
PS. I won't forget you with the answers to your very clever design.
Cheers,
M
get well soon

Re: get well soon
At least something special if he managed to fracture his peroneal bone, but skipped snapping his fibula.
One of those athletic types ?

Best wishes for a fast recovery Mihai.

According to Dr. Guinness, "glass lifting" is the only allowed exercise for a while...

Cheers!
Good recovery....hummm..bad luck tibia and peroneum same time..well
they are into the same area.
I hope you heal fast Mihai.
Good recovery.

Carlos

I have found the picture on the net 😀
Hi Mihai,
Get well soon!
BTW, Where did you source the Ero 1uF mkp1839 caps?

Hi Mihai,
Thanks for your info. We have Farnell here also.

Hi roender,
I have simulated your design in Multisim and it has truly excellent performance! Very nice. I have some NJL3281A/1302A and I have been considering a design myself, but I don't think I could come close to yours. So... I would like to build yours.
I tried to open your Gerber zip file from the first page, but it is incompatible with my program (Ultiboard). Do you have pdf files of the board layout or better yet, Gerber RS-274X files? I make my own boards, single sided or double sided no problem.
One thing: Now don't be angry( 🙂 ), but I want to substitute low noise BJTs for the differential pair. The jfets you have are hard to find and expensive.
I have simmed the change and it just needs (I think) lower current through the front end and emitter resistors on the diff pair to get comparable results to the original.
Please let me know. Thanks.

I used Eagle to open the file that I found further in the thread to print this. Layout is very nice, but the silkscreen is a mess. I normally don't use Eagle so I couldn't get everything looking good enough to put on the board top. I'll have to make do without the silkscreen.
Tinned and ready to drill:

Wow! John, Your are fast!
😉
Can you make 2 boards for me, please? I can send you some matched Jfets.............. 😀

MJL21193,
Good work!
Nice to see how fast you can make boards. What method do you use?
Regarding silkscreen, it's very difficult to create that layer with EAGLE
I look forward for how it sound impressions 😉
ps. It is a good time to change your nick name to NJL3281 🙂
