ZM thanks for the pictures of these two geniuses together. Just the thought of First Watt and LX toegther - a super sound stage.
Yes, agreed. I still enjoy re-reading the three part article on the active speaker system (KEF drivers) published in Wireless World (UK) back in the 1970's.
Sigfield Linkwitz has passed.

RIP to the man who helped advance our understanding of psychoacoustics! I’ve listened to all his designs from the Orion, Pluto and LX series. Very pious, simple individual who had a singular vision...
Kind regards to his wife and family,
Anand.

It is sad to see such a luminary pass away.
I was just getting into diy full-steam when i ran across the Linkwitz Wireless World article came to my attention. I don’t know how many times i read that. It had a significant impact on my early diy designs.

I was thinking about Siegfried this morning. Despite the terrible news, I feel comfort that he was with his loved ones in his home.
We should feel blessed by the contributions he provided us and know that his speaker designs will stand the test of time.
The OPLUG will continue to support his work by providing a venue for builders to freely exchange ideas.
RIP SL.

Very well said.Engineering and Love for Music sometimes blend together in some gifted people.
Today we lost one of them. Thank you for the incredible amount of valuable science you left to us.
R.I.P. Eng. Siegfried Linkwitz, enjoy the Heaven wherever you are!
All the Best
We lost one of the great contributors today ... one who helped to advance the art, through science.
May he rest in peace.
A sad day for the Audio industry and DIY builders indeed.
He will live on in his wonderful contributions to our love of sound reproduction systems and the pleasure it gives to listen.
Those of us who have built and use his designs on a daily basis will know the giving man he was and the inspiration to many.
Goodbye Siegfried

Siegfried Linkwitz’s passing is a great loss to the field of audio all over the world. He will be missed. A true Giant in the field.
A sad adieu to a kind and generous man. The audio world is poorer for his passing. R.I.P.

Consummate gentleman. Greatly generous. Superbly qualified engineer. Saw the beauty in music and in music's reproduction. RIP.
He was first, last and foremost an Engineer who followed the engineer's maxim; study, invent, measure, improve, study. His work lives on even though he is gone...RIP Siegfried!
